With most of this era's producers turned djs… Supa Skip has taken the opposite route in his music career.  Although he has been producing music since he was young, djing has taken up most of his time.  He has played extensively throughout the US, and has been a staple in the dj scene for over a decade.  His style has flashes of the late Dj AM, the uber talented Dj Atrak.  Cutting and scratching all the while delivering a flawlessly smooth mix have set this dj apart in the EDM community where it is almost non existent and respect from hip hop and DMC heads of which he grew up imitating.  His dj skills alone have landed him on VH1, as well as, multiple events for MTV, RedBull, Puma, and it has landed him countless residencies at nightclubs over the years. He appears for Global Groove & Nomad Productions annually for Spring Break and Summer Festivals which draw crowds of over 5000 people!  In the Spring of 2013 he appeared on 3 stops of the infamous and nationally renown "Barstool Blackout Tour", one of the nations top EDM based tours.  He definitely knows how to work the biggest stages right down to the most intimate rooms.  He currently dj's for Suite, a chain of nightclubs with locations in major cites like Charlotte, Cincinnati, and Milwaukee.  His newest edition to his nightclub resume is Bubble located in the Epicentre in Charlotte NC, where he resides.  This all EDM, upscale venue is the perfect place to not only hear but watch this charismatic dj do his thing…

Being a true dj at heart, Supa Skip has taken his years of experience behind the decks to his original and remix production.  He has always been producing music, and a slew of edits and bootlegs have been top downloads on Dj sites and record pools.  He made quite a name for himself with these "dj tools' and a ton of like minded djs have given him praise like Dj Five from Las Vegas, and Roctakon from NYC.  In late 2012 he took time to be apart of the production trap duo of the Trapticonz.  He and long time friend Dj Dirty, came together and took the internet blogs by storm with an EP of unofficial trap remixes, which they gave away via SoundCloud.  In 2013, he has teamed up with Dj/Producer Dj Frenzy to work on multiple electro house and breakbeat projects.  These projects have gained him praise and have been featured on international blogs like "Rhythm & Breaks" & "White Folks Get Crunk".  In June of 2013 he was featured on influential blog "Smash The Club" his remix production. His hard work has paid off and after years of bootlegs, and unofficial remixes, his original and licensed remixed tracks have appeared on Digital Records and Elektro Aktive Music ran by the Legendary Dj Magic Mike..  In The Summer of 2013 he and fellow label mate Dj Frenzy appear together on the official remix of "So Fly" by NY producer Prime Ft. If you are a music lover then this dj is for you… His influences cross not only genres but years and you can tell his influences are not just EDM based.  Hints of soul, Motown's golden era of R&B, disco, funk, rock, and hip hop can be felt as this dj moves his fingers across the decks.  Considered by many to be the "best live dj you haven't heard of yet" that moniker may be in jeopardy as his star is on the rise and many industry leaders have taken note.  He and Dj Frenzy have recently unleashed their 4 turntable open format EMD set for super promoters Sugar Society & Disco Donnie alongside Sander Van Dorn!  Their set is incredibly one of a kind as it bridges the gap between EDM genres and includes an old school live dj performance of which half the fun is seeing.

AREA 303 is  a brand with the aim to showcase underground techno in the right environment. First conceived as a live PA act by Larry Kleinke and Wilf Libgott, it now consists of a record label, events, artists/bookings and more.

The events under the name ‘WAREHOUSE WEEKENDER’ bring back the spirit from the early days of house and techno. The opposite of ‘Disney’ like festivals, overly produced and overly commercial, Area 303 brings stripped down events with powerful, in-your-face sound, darkness and just enough lighting to make a room explode. The later into the night the better. The monotone techno vibes have a special quality and we strive to bring the best talent available, whether local or from other places.

The favorite locations for Area 303 consist of older buildings, preferably warehouses. Locations with attitude and grit. We strive to explore new locations when we can. AREA 303 Live, the project by Larry Kleinke and Wilf Libgott takes Live PA techno to the next level. They stay true to their roots; the oldschool sound! As they utilize an array of analog synths, drum machines, mixers, stomp boxes and the latest sampling groove machines, they assure their audience a raw mix of beats, effects and noise dedicated to dancefloor mayhem.
At AREA 303 shows, Machinedrums, Roland TR drum machines, TB 303 clones, Electribes and more are hooked up together to bring an intriguing sound. Since they have control over every single note played, they have the ability to directly interact with their crowd and tweak to perfection.

Libgott is originally from Amsterdam and grew up in a time filled with Todd Terry classics, Jeff Mills pounders and Joey Beltram masterpieces.
As founder of www.hammarica.com he has interviewed all the greats from the world of techno, including Detroit originator Juan Atkins, early house adopters Fierce Ruling Diva and founder of legendary label R&S records Renaat Vandepapeliere among many others. He joined Kleinke in AREA 303 to form a live act with the music he loves most!

All artwork for the label is done by Larry Kleinke. Besides music, Kleinke has a strong interest in photography. His pictures are often dark and gritty and form the perfect addition to the feel of the Area 303 label. Rusty trains, dark gear, a night shot of the city and more grace the covers of the label.

Portland based pop-punk quartet Jet Force Gemini was formed in 2011 in when Michael Christopher (vocals and guitar) and Roman Bilko (guitar) merged two distinctly different backgrounds to create a unique blend  of modern punk and pop melodies with progressive rock and metal guitar stylings. The band, which also features Nathan Hocker (drums) have been an established part of the Portland music scene for the last six years.

In 2014 the band released their debut album Pistola Melodica off their own budget and through the support of crowd-funding, this 12 song album would act as the foundation for the Band's unique balance of styles. 
Their sophomore follow-up Dive Eternity, which was saw a release in the fall of 2017, took the precedent set by Pistola Melodica and made it markedly larger. 

Dive Eternity showcases the Band's ability to weave these uniquely different styles into a compelling, 14 track album in which each song is distinctly it's own. Their first single, 'Triumphant', blends an power pop anthem-like chorus with orchestral string arrangements. Their second single, 'Monsters' is on the opposite of the spectrum, pushing heavy guitar work and gritty vocals that prove the band is more than capable of bringing out the heavy artillery. This song culminates in a djent breakdown followed by Bilko's now signature rapid fire guitar solos. 

With a third album already in the works, Jet Force Gemini continues to break new ground with their work.

The band pulls no punches with what promoter Leslie J Bialik calls ““…a perfect blend of straight-ahead raucous rock style, with very timely and relevant lyrics.” 

    Roman’s memorable leads range between classic punk anthems and modern southern rock phrasing to blistering fast classic rock solos and hauntingly romantic ballads. “They are playing in the same playground as Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance,” writes The Musical Junkie. 

    The extent of the bands range can be heard between the group’s singles. “New Disco Era” is pop punk to the core. A strong showing of vocal harmonies, pop hooks, and throwback leads with a touch of dark humor. “Venom” plays on the modern rock foundation. An antihero love song  that highlights the instrumental and vocal cadence the ties the entire band together. “Catalyst” is the fight track. It hits hard and fast, with a chorus that combines multi-layered harmonies and rapid fire double bass.

    It is with this unapologetic style that Jet Force Gemini  make themselves known.  Not relying on hyperbole or clichés to define themselves; JFG uses a combination of high energy live performances, anthem-like choruses, and a series of original viral video content to stand apart from the atypical alternative rock genre. Simply put; it is animated, explosive, entertainment.

Wanderingted is the alias of Ted Schmitz, a singer-songwriter currently living in Berlin. He sounds like it; there’s an eerie European elegance to his stark folk-rock which brings to mind from where Bowie recorded his own famed Berlin trilogy. Schmitz was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and he sounds like that too: There’s mountain-band instruments and delicious treacherous-weather twangs all over songs like “To the Gods of Minnesota” and “The Water of All My Days.” This imaginational mix of Berlin-Saint Paul sounds like it would be unlikely, until you hear how Schmitz’s evocative voice mixes with his crisp acoustic playing, creating a gorgeous new geographical region of the mind and senses. 
 
Wanderingted’s debut album I Could Be You seems like something completely original, but also from the talents of someone who works as an opera singer and performer all over this globe.  As a clue to the name of his project, he considers himself one of the many wanderers in this world – as he says, “I am with those of us who have moved more times than we care to count, observing the same human patterns everywhere.” He wrote I Could Be You mostly in a garden shed just outside of London. For a guy from middle America, he can craft elegiac threnodies that would be perfect on a mix-tape with the very Anglo Divine Comedy (but restraining any bombast). 
 
Schmitz found himself making songs over a year which always seemed on the brink of worldwide apocalyptic destruction, during which his own father was dying of cancer. Suffering through all this doesn’t usually sound like it would help to make a deeply pleasurable listening experience, yet it does. Such darkness does not make I Could Be You hard to listen to; just the opposite. Like an existentialist finally churning the cruel absurdity of fate into an unexpected form of meaning, there is a surprising amount of humor here as well. Such as the duties described in “Just A Dude,” or the weird Fairy Tale rhymes of a certain goose described in “Carfrost.” You never know where the lyrics are going to go, but Schmitz can actually be poignant and hilarious at the same time.
 
Schmitz explains: “In this atmosphere, where it seemed everyone wanted to act, to influence, to invoke change and shout louder than the next person, the question arose: why add to the noise when songs can uniquely speak the language of our secret hidden worlds? The songs that came out sound to me now like moments of that year, where things feel silly and profound at the same time.”
 
What cuddles up to the listener with beautiful vibes of indie folk, the eight songs now form the musical basis of the staged concert Im Gegensatz zu dir (In Contrast to You) by Nico and the Navigators. The show addresses responses to these very turbulent times and how we can value differences. Premiered at the Performing Arts Festival in Berlin in 2017 and continuing to tour, the record I Could Be You will finally be released December 7, 2018.  Now that’s all put together, it’s definitely a journey off the beaten path well worth taking.

Under the false impression that he lived in Brooklyn, Kat sent Josh a cold email, asking if he wanted to write a song together. He agreed and they began emailing ideas for their first song, “Perfect Fit,” back and forth. It wasn’t until the track was nearly done, and Kat offered to stop by his studio to sing final vocals, that Josh told her that might be difficult... because he lives in LA. It was a happy accident that Kat didn't known he was on the opposite coast, or she would never have sent the email that led to The Kat & Josh.

Everybody from Philly can rap" Uptown Ezy boasts, while being interviewed in a Center City studio session at the widely popular Batcave Studio. At 23 years old, coming out of Philadelphia pursuing a hip hop career, it's understood that only the strong survive. Ezy has a story to tell. His solo debut project "Tha Ezy Way Out", he gives you the in's and out's of growing up in his world. Although he... resides in a rough city, he gives you an outlook most artists from the streets couldn't. "The coke game is dead! I just want these young dudes to understand." Ezy says while discussing what "The Ezy Way Out" is all about. "I'm living proof because I never thought I would be rapping!!" Growing up with his mother and sister, Uptown Ezy born (Ian Brown) was supposed to be doomed, as a product of a failing environment. Contrary to belief, he became the complete opposite. "The Youth Is The Future!!" he says. "The Ezy way Out" is perfect for the state of hip-hop right now. "Its crazy to me to see artists my age, who are actually from this city, making dumb ass dance tracks. I know we all like to dance. But who wants to go "HAM" in the club when you got electric, gas, and all types of other bills?" In order to give us an in depth version of who Ian 'Ezy' Brown really is, he linked up with his former cell-mate to complete a full length Novel - Rightfully titled "Da Ezy Way Out." Have you ever wished on a star? Well this star strives to shine bright. Uptown Ezy goes hard To follow his dreams so that his own children know the resilience it takes to make it in this "barrel full of crabs," Ezy's description of Philadelphia. As a father of four year old daughter (Iyanah Garland) and father to his girlfriends 2yr old daughter (Samantha), Uptown Ezy lives by this code: "I Gotta Make it, these girls are my motivation.

The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) was established in 1988 as an independent think-tank to study and generate public policy ideas in Singapore. IPS became an autonomous research centre of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore in 2008. Today, IPS continues to analyse public policy, build bridges between thought leaders, and communicate its findings to a wide audience. The Institute examines issues of critical national interest across a variety of fields, and studies the attitudes and aspirations of Singaporeans through surveys of public perception. It adopts a multi-disciplinary approach in its analyses and takes the long-term view in its strategic deliberation and research.

Australian composer, DJ and electronic artist Cooperblack (Jeremy Conlon) releases ‘The Degradation Suite’, a six-track meditation on ‘the end of the world’. 

Dense with bleak electronica, awash with cavernous field recordings and drenched in despondent live cello, ‘The Degradation Suite’ sounds like a requiem and feels like an epitaph: for the human race, for the environment and for life on earth as we know it. 

Originally from Adelaide, now based in Alice Springs, classically-trained composer, Jeremy Conlon has lived in the Northern Territory for the best part of 15 years, largely in the Central Desert Region. Knowing first-hand the fragility of sustaining life in the most isolated of places, he was inspired to write a musical response to “the end of the world”. 

“Central Australia is a place where most of the resources come from somewhere else,” he says. “This is an artistic response to what happens when they suddenly stop coming in: the impact and how humans react to the environment changing. It’s a soundtrack for a disaster film that hasn’t been written yet.”

For his tenth major recording, Conlon worked with talented collaborators. Alice Springs multi-instrumentalist, looper, singer and ‘NT Song of the year Finalist’ XAVIA fills Conlon’s synth-driven score with frail and vulnerabile cello playing, deepening the album's anxious emotional texture. Veteran engineer Ross Cockle at Melbourne’s Sing Sing Recording Studios mastered the album, a process Conlon found very rewarding. 

“Ross was recommended to me as someone who would have an understanding of the sound I was after,” he says, “and of the potential uses of the music once completed. We had some really good conversations about the vision I saw in the music, what I wanted to do with it, and the general inspiration for the album.” 

Achingly beautiful, it also kind of hurts to listen. While Beautiful But Dangerous is title of Track 3, it also perfectly sums up the aural effect of listening to - and taking in - this epic, atmospheric journey into the heart of darkness. It’s as hauntingly memorable as any of the greatest contemporary SF film scores - think the Solaris reboot, Moon and Under The Skin. 

As desert dance and music festival-goers already know, Jeremy Conlon is an exciting musical talent and live performer. 

You’ve been warned: travelling across 15 years and vast distances to get here, 'The Degradation Suite' is just as this unique Australian composer wants it to be.
