DISASTER AREA is an open  project created for the purpose of experiment various interactions between acoustic and electronic instruments in a  context of improvised music. 
The founding members are Claudio Ferrari, Bruno Gussoni and Iao Aea.
Disaster Area is available for collaborating with other artists; we remember here our collaborations with musicians like Jane Rigler, Bernadette Zeilinger, Diego Mune,  Anja Kreysing, Ulrike Lentz, Anton Mobin, Roberto Lazzarino,  and others, and with the videomaker Jutta Pryor.

CLAUDIO FERRARI operates several electronic instruments, both analog and digital, to produce electronic music both composed and live improvised.

Bruno Gussoni (born in 1951) is a flute player who works in the field of free improvisation/instant compositions. He plays several flutes (C flute, alto flute, bass flute, piccolo, shakuhachi, nohkan, shinobue, ryūteki), used to create a unique and personal language producing experimental flute sounds. He is not interested in the use of the flutes as “academic instruments”, he has given up on traditional techniques in favour of extended techniques like un-pitched breaths, multiple sounds, harmonics, overtones, whispers, microtones, keys percussion, and other sounds, all combined with breath, silence, soundscapes… exploring the acoustic possibility of the flutes, in the sound space and in relation with other improvisers.
