King Nine Will Not Return is Seattle-based
songwriter & multi instrumentalist Justin
McCormick (He/Him). Justin’s writing and recording
process is rooted in improvisation coming from the
spark of wilderness within and from the natural
places around the varied places he’s lived. Inspired
by a deep reverence for nature and a nomadic
personal history: living in New Zealand, the suburbs
of Florida, a commune in Virginia, the Adirondack
mountains of upstate New York to eventually
grounding in Seattle. The PNW is where he has called
home for over 20 years. This journey has created a
sonic foundation of vocal textures and rhythmic
layers, heavily inspired by the psychedelic and
strange. KNWNR aims for creating a dark journey
aesthetic from deep forests, glittering streams, and
the high feeling from being lost in nature.
