What a wild ride those 24 hours in Milan were. It honestly felt like a whole week packed into a single day—from travel chaos to technical issues, broken gear, missed connections... everything that could go wrong, almost did.

But what truly stayed with me wasn’t the stress—it was Masada ODD. This beautiful, historic space holds a vibe that’s unlike anything else: warm, raw, welcoming. The people behind the club are incredibly kind and full of passion, and the dancers brought so much joy and energy to the night. It was one of those rare moments where everything clicks—connection, community, music.

ODD Milano, I’ve completely fallen for you. Thank you for everything. I’ll definitely be back.

Poseidon by Ebip Serafedino (2022) Serafedino has long been recognized for a painterly language rooted in expressionism, marked by bold color, textured surfaces, and a distinctly Mediterranean vibrancy shaped by his cosmopolitan life. Having studied and worked in cities such as Rome, Florence, Venice, Berlin, and later Paris, Serafedino developed a style that avoids rigid figuration in favor of dynamic, gestural abstraction. His canvases are built upon energy, rhythm, and a tactile dialogue between form and color.

Created in 2022, Poseidon is one of the works in which Serafedino engages directly with mythology, though in his own idiom. The painting invokes the god of the sea not through narrative illustration but through atmosphere and intensity. The composition, dominated by layered textures and assertive strokes, recalls the raw, ungovernable character of the sea itself. Areas of concentrated density meet looser, more fluid gestures, producing a rhythm that can be read as a metaphor for turbulence, depth, and shifting force.

The palette reinforces this elemental presence. Instead of theatrical blues or decorative embellishment, Serafedino works with earthier, more grounded tones echoes of rock, water, shadow, and storm. This approach positions Poseidon not as a decorative mythological tableau but as a symbolic evocation of natural power. Viewers may see the painting less as a portrait of a deity than as a meditation on energy, scale, and permanence.

Serafedino’s broader practice emphasizes the physicality of painting: thick layers of pigment, worked surfaces, and an immediacy of gesture that gives his canvases a sense of both permanence and movement. In this context, Poseidon reflects his interest in reducing subjects to their essence capturing not the story of a god but the sensation of what such a figure represents. Just as his earlier works drew from the Mediterranean landscape and the vitality of color, here he channels the immensity of myth into a visual language of tension, weight, and flux.

Although Poseidon draws on an ancient theme, it is ultimately contemporary in execution. Serafedino avoids literal representation, instead offering a work that can be read as both abstract and symbolic. For some, the canvas may suggest the primal energies of the sea; for others, it may stand as a metaphor for resilience, instability, or humanity’s enduring attempt to translate nature into image. This openness to interpretation is central to Serafedino’s practice.

Through Poseidon, Serafedino demonstrates his continued ability to bridge the timeless with the modern. The painting exemplifies his expressive vocabulary dynamic brushwork, layered surfaces, and a chromatic sensibility shaped by Mediterranean fervor and Parisian refinement while at the same time inviting viewers to confront myth not as a story of the past, but as an active, living presence.

✔️ What is your musical background?

My first important contact with electronic music came with my dear friend Dennis (Ganji) who carried niche Downtempo genres into my Munich suburban bourgeoisie environment when I was a teenager.

However, the main influence for my DJ project were - believe it or not - intense sonic confrontations with Full-On Psytrance in 2022. Luckily, once I had my first controller Downtempo and Tech genres took over my library published by labels like down., Talpa Rec. and Crépite and produced/mixed by artists such as Riyoon, Frida Darko, Reyneke, Temple Tears, Antaares, Matildoutz, LENI and - of course - Ganji.

 

✔️ In your opinion, what makes a good afterhour?

Self-confident but mellow and conscious people. No phones, a deep gripping yet suave sound. Eye contact that gets replied with a smile, a caring question or a friendly chat.

 

✔️ How did you feel about the gig?

When Benja from Kompáz asked me to open the event, I did not know what to expect and started planning from creative scratch. Though not many people arrived this early at the Salon floor and  personally I was very troubled beforehand, the time behind the decks was my perfect start for a deeply touching and wholesome weekend.

KataHaifisch Podcast 442 - sofsky live @ CoSy Festival 2025

On the first day of September, Hekske (the little witch) woke up in a cool and damp forest. With her eyes still half-open from a good night’s sleep, her heart suddenly skipped a beat from excitement when she realized the next night there would be a full moon, which meant she’ll participate in the monthly witch coven. She woke up Falke (the witch apprentice) and after drinking their morning tea, they got into a flying mood and flew into the unknown. They knew they would – as always - reach their destination by simply following their inner compass.
This time they flew to the North-West and after a long flight over the North Sea, they finally saw a rugged coastline with white cliffs. And after flying for a few more hours over a variety of lush green landscapes, they finally sensed they had reached their destination at the edge of a huge forest, where an old witch was waiting for them. She introduced herself as Fiona, and after a warm welcome hug, the girls followed their guide deep into the woods until they reached a pond with a mirror-like surface. The witches slipped out of their immaculately white dresses and waded into the crystal-clear water. This place was incredibly still and quiet. The witches were just lazily floating on the surface, looking at all these shades of green around them and soaking up the serene energy.
The mood was so relaxed that the witches only got out of the water when the sun was going down. To their bewilderment they found out that their white dresses had been replaced by 3 green dresses. Intuitively, they knew which dresses belonged to each witch. Falke was immediately drawn to the short dress with the frisky spring colors, while Hekske fell instantly in love with the emerald green dress with the mysterious patterns, which was matching perfectly with her bright green eyes. The witches tried the dresses on and magically all were a perfect fit. 
Fiona (now wearing an elegant dark-green dress) led her guests to a nearby apple tree, which was bearing so many fruits that the branches were hanging down. The girls all picked a green apple, and ate it with great appetite. This was easily the best apple Hekske had ever tasted. And after eating the fruit, she felt even more connected than ever with the lush surroundings.
After this, the witches lied down on the soft moss at the foot of a giant oak tree, when they sensed an unusual presence. Falke opened her eyes and saw a green viper next to her. She knew she had nothing to fear from this snake and stretched out her hand. Soon the curious viper was slithering over her body before curling up on Falke’s belly and seemingly falling asleep. This meant that Falke was not only a dragon tamer but also a snake charmer. She spent the whole night with the beautiful snake on top of her, and the next morning she kissed goodbye to her new friend. Time had come to fly back to her home forest in Flanders and tell a lot of new stories to all the forest dwellers …
