Just A Bit Of Fun

A dumpster truck doing it's thing on a Montreal residential street, on August 25, 2015.

At exactly 03 min, 43 sec, 01425 samples there is a cut I made.

I did it to remove my talking about the recording, saying I'm lowering the rec level because I'm worried it will peak. (In this case it came nowhere near peaking as the bulk of the loud stuff was over, but I could not have known that ahead of time.) So besides removing that section of audio I also increased the amplitude (volume) of what follows by something around 4dB, to try to get it back approximately at the same amplitude it was before I lowered the level.

I do not hear the cut, nor can I see it on the graphic representation in my audio program.  I would be very curious to know if anyone can hear it, or learn anything about software that is designed to recognize that kind or other kinds of alterations to audio tracks.  Leave me a message if you know about that stuff please.  I'd just like a few pointers for doing my own research on the topic.  If it involves advanced math, which I think is likely, I only got to beginning calculus in school, so some stuff I understand the principles involved but I can't do the math.

In January this year, we lost the great musician and drummer of YMO, Yukihiro Takahashi. As if following him, last month, Ryuichi Sakamoto also passed away. Having lost two respected musicians, I find myself without emotional support and have been creating music daily, tracing their music and lives. Unconsciously, the songs I create are heavily influenced by their music. This song is one of them. When I listen to the finished piece, I feel it somewhat resembles YMO's "Expecting Rivers." These days, I find "HOPE" in the Milky Way, the heavenly river that spans the sky.

My linux won't boot so I'm presently forced to use Windows, and because of the bug in Soundcloud's system my account is all messed up when I don't use a VPN to connect which I am unable to do now... trying to get help from my VPN provider.  Because of this, and because I started working very long days I will be less present here.  Sorry, I'm trying.

What I wrote below was heart felt but presumptuous and pretentious.  I would have to not be stupid myself to be allowed to claim such a thing.  More importantly though, I don't believe it is correct or accurate.  These people are probably not stupid but just don't care.  Justice is a collective thing and many if not most people seem to live in bubbles.  It is perhaps economic oppression which is responsible, they just don't have the resources, the time, the energy to be concerned about what lies behond that bubble.  It used to be fine but there's this thing they call globalization which makes this increasingly impractical or impossible.

Justice and vengeance are not the same.  Apparently most people are too stupid to see the difference.  Unfortunately it is not something unique to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and not unique to group conflicts.

What happened to intelligence?  Aren't we supposed to be the "intelligent" specie.
