Sic 'Em

I am still a beginner student of electronic music and sound design and this is my first Space Ambient creation. Special thanks to 'Signs of Life' for his wonderful walkthrough tutorials on creating Ambient music. This track was created using a couple of his Anomaly 3 Vital presets. This track was created in Ableton Live 12 using mostly Vital,  Stepic sequencer and stock Ableton samples. Ozone 10 was used for the master. I hope you enjoy my first ambient creation.

Dischorealism was initially intended to be a conceptual work about ”milk” but we quickly got tired of the idea and the result was partly something completely different. Nevertheless, partly the same in the sense of sucking the life out of somebody, exploiting and over consuming trust in any form. Dischorealism explores the cost of dual nature and circulates around themes such as friendship, sex, violence and drug abuse.

Dischorealism is IMAGE and SOUND and a collaboration between Vanligt Folk and videoartist Tobias Toyberg. This is the SOUND part of the collaboration.

DISCHORA

Shirlinda’s "Karma Is A Killer" is a haunting and evocative soundtrack for a horror film that reimagines Karma as a relentless killer, restoring balance between good and evil. Seamlessly blending electronic, dungeon synth, and dark synth influences, the album captures the moody essence of 80s horror soundtracks while adding a modern edge. The result is a mesmerizing auditory experience that mirrors the film’s themes of vengeance, morality, and cosmic justice.

Part instrumental and part vocal, the album divides its time between eerie soundscapes and haunting songs performed by Shirlinda herself. Her ethereal vocals narrate the story’s philosophical undertones, exploring the ambiguity of Karma’s actions and the line between justice and retribution. Instrumental tracks build tension with dark, brooding synths, atmospheric pads, and pulsating rhythms, evoking shadowy, fog-filled streets and neon-lit confrontations.

Standout tracks include "Karma Is A Killer Ad Introitum", a brooding opener that introduces the titular figure with ominous synth motifs and layered percussion, and "Vanished Beneath The Glowing Gloom", which alternates soaring vocals with dungeon synth arpeggios, reflecting the story’s internal and external conflicts. "We Are Burning Slow" serves as the climactic centerpiece, with relentless beats and electrifying basslines echoing the final confrontation.

Rich in atmosphere and inspired by 80s synth-driven scores, "Karma Is A Killer" is both a love letter to classic horror and a bold exploration of its themes. Fans of John Carpenter, Perturbator, and Carpenter Brut will find this album an unforgettable journey into the shadows of vengeance and redemption.

Phantom Glow

This track evolved emotionally, particularly with the vocal being added - which somehow reminded me of Pink Floyd - though I'm not trying in any way to imply I get close to their greatness. Anyway - hope you enjoy it.

Until now, my music was almost completely ununderstood except for the SoundCloud community (I am very grateful to you). Why is that? I haven't even been able to face that question. However, this time, with the beginning of 2025, I will also change! I decided. I have to break out of my shell. I have to incorporate trends. Art can sometimes be radical and have a strong impact on people. Hardcore is the attitude of sticking to self-expression without pandering. I don't care if my songs are art or not. Oh, the English word "hardcore" also means that "art can go beyond a hobby or a job and become life itself. That stoicism and passion" is what makes it hardcore. I would like to emulate this meaning.

In The Trance

You can't see it because of the angle with which I took the shot, aiming down, but beyond those blocks is the sea.  To the left is the Mediterranean, to the right is the Atlantic Ocean.  No it's not Gibraltar, but a little bit further West. ... Actually I checked recently and it is further North more than West, I thought I was facing South when in fact I probably was facing the Atlantic ocean, which is why I suppose the waves were of a decent size where we were.
