Babou the Dog

La Palabra is the result of the encounter between two artists who share the ancestral roots of their ancestors, the indigenous peoples of South America.

CORAZONDELLOCO, influenced by the poetry of Arra Hué (daughter of the rivers and granddaughter of fire, descendant of the Charrua people), presents this new production that combines electronic music, poetry and the beauty of the sounds of nature, with atmospheres recorded in the field by the artist himself. The waters of the rivers and the symphony of birdsong guide the voice and poetry of Arra Hué, which is narrated in two languages: Chaná (the native language of the indigenous people of the same name, who inhabited the confluence of the Negro and Uruguay rivers in Uruguay, as well as the islands of the Paraná delta in Argentina) and Spanish, the language of the colonizers of these regions.

The poem “Uví Isipó” (Blood Roots) that introduces La Palabra, deals with the importance of keeping alive the memory and struggles of one’s ancestors. The second poem, “El Espíritu” (The Spirit), is born from the awareness that, despite the silences, secrets, and violence experienced by the Charrua and Chaná peoples in various attempts at “extermination” throughout their history, something remained alive, whether in the culture or in the blood of their descendants. Both poems complement each other and construct the narrative of “La Palabra”, the new single by Arra Hué and CORAZONDELLOCO.

Hey all, I thought this fun experimental piece still felt minimal with open spaces ready for further development. So I'm sharing it out as an open collab and hoping others will be interested in taking up the challenge!

Knocking

This song’s lead was crafted using a Korg Volca Modular. Exploring modular synthesis is an exciting but challenging journey, especially on a device like this, where the absence of MIDI control leaves everything to manual adjustments. The unpredictability of modular sounds can be exhilarating yet difficult to tame.

I may have worked a little too intensely on this piece—it became so consuming that the melody played incessantly in my mind throughout the night, keeping sleep at bay. During that restless night, I experienced a vivid vision that seemed to emerge from the depths of my subconscious.
In this vision: 

A sad clown, poorly painted and with his head tilted, danced wildly to the erratic pulses of an out-of-control analog machine. His head appeared ready to fall from his body as sorrow burned into fierce, uncontrollable rage, expressed through an erratic, chaotic dance. His body seemed no longer his own to control. His mouth opened impossibly wide, his eyes bulged as if to escape their sockets. Then, with a thunderous roar, the head of a lion emerged from his mouth. As the lion advanced, the clown’s body tore apart, disintegrating into dust. The transformation was complete. The lion, now fully formed, walked away calmly and serenely, radiating power and peace.

I have not been able to recover access to my other account [https://soundcloud.com/ha-kekong] for a couple of years.  I have tried a few times to get back into it but SoundCloud doesn't trust me.  Same phone number, same email addresses, and they still claim that they can't verify my identity.  I created that account about three years ago as a substitute to my regular account which SoundCloud temporarily closed.  They closed it as part of some upgrade procedure in their system, the result of a bug that affected many accounts, about two years ago.  Since SC did not inform its users I didn't know if that was permanent or not, so I created that other account which I can't access.  Don't be mad if I have not replied to your message in the past two years, that's because I never got them ; ) ... You can always reach me here though.

You can't see it because of the angle with which I took the shot, aiming down, but beyond those blocks is the sea.  To the left is the Mediterranean, to the right is the Atlantic Ocean.  No it's not Gibraltar, but a little bit further West. ... Actually I checked recently and it is further North more than West, I thought I was facing South when in fact I probably was facing the Atlantic ocean, which is why I suppose the waves were of a decent size where we were.
