For this episode we'd like to welcome a great colombian artist, Ancient forest, who contributed to our concept with a beautiful and carefully crafted selection.

Andres Cano, a.k.a Ancient Forest resides in the north of Colombia.
His sound is built around Ambient, tribal & deep techno. he feels attracted by sonic sceneries, surrounding atmospheres, meditative music and healing frequencies.
He expresses his sounds through diverse emotions and achieves to channel them into his music.
His unique style is built around ambient & organic elements, tribal percussions & dub techno.
Mental stimulation and high vibration are the signature of his work.

Introspective Electronics w/ Avsluta x Netil Radio | December 21

For this episode and for the followings, I wanted to give the floor to some artists I admire and respect a lot. I believe everyone has ideas, a voice, opinions they want to fight for. I believe we can aspire for a better future world through music. Today, I have invited @korvn to record a Mixing for a Cause podcast.

MFC 20 : KORVN – Uprooted In Dehumanization

Originally from the French Atlantic coast, KORVN has lived in Montreal since 2016. 
From melancholy to euphoria, KORVN explores the spectrum of emotions in both his productions and his sets. He tries to narrate the sorrows of his heart and the thoughts of his raving brain with a type of music infused by a brutal and powerful techno style. 
He performed at Piknic Électronik and opened for Nur Jaber and Jacidorex in December 2021. 
He recently released his first tracks on promising Montreal-based labels: MFC Records, Vagues Records, Secret Knowledge and Vertige Records.

For this mix, he wanted to raise awareness about refugees’ crisis around the world. 

“With this podcast, I want to draw attention to a problem that will never be exposed enough as it is sadly meant to keep growing. There are so many refugees’ stories to be told around the world and there will be more because of conflicts, instability in certain regions of the world and consequences of climate change. As some people move to get a job or an education, others have no choice but to flee conflicts, human rights violations, persecutions, and environmental crisis consequences. This subject is in a way encrypted in my DNA because the family of my paternal grandmother fled the persecutions of Franco and the famine linked to the meager harvests in Spain before the Second World War. 

I have chosen this title to make people understand that moving to other countries is not necessarily and always a choice. In fact, the definition of “uprooted” emphasizes the violence of how certain human beings can be removed from their home, country or simply their way of life. Forced by their living environment to move, they don’t choose, they only try to survive. 

This crisis is the most important humanitarian crisis that Europe has known since the Second World War, but it is not only a European situation. It is more of a worldwide responsibility that we must take all together in solidarity. As we speak, there are around 30 million refugees around the world and more than 80% are hosted by developing countries and not the richest countries. Moreover, it is more than 70 million people who have been uprooted by war, persecution, or natural disaster and I feel that refugees, asylum seekers or even migrants in general are more and more dehumanized in extreme political discourses that gives credit to discrimination, racism, and xenophobia. Those discourses are only and dangerously used to obtain political gain as simple explanations for our society’s malfunctions. We cannot succumb to this explanation that has been used over and over for decades when things go wrong but we must act as a responsible international community that says, “refugees welcome” in a sense of shared humanity.”

MFC 20 : KORVN – Uprooted In Dehumanization

His progressive sessions, profound and with long mixes, are real voyages that sail through experimental music, ambient and horizontal and dubby techno. His productions are 4x4 experiments of low tempo with field recordings and marked spaces, where he explores timbres, textures and cinematographic structures. He is resident at the Alpenglühen and Taiga sessions and owner of the label Antimatter together with Bule.
 
He is also the owner of Alpenglühen (the label) focused in deep and ambient techno which explores the thin line between light and darkness. He has recently launched together with Kawn, "Tactil", a project formed in 2020 focused on experimental slow techno that released its first vinyl in April this year on Antimatter.

Israel is only the executioner, every nation which has armed that country in the past year is an accessory to that genocide, an accomplice, a facilitator.  We cannot talk about war crimes because when you target unarmed civilians, mostly women and children, we are talking about a massacre, like terrorists do, not a war. The people who orchestrated that massacre, in the US, the most duplicitous, followed by those of the UK, Germany, France, and probably a few lesser ones should be tried for crimes against humanity just as well as Netanyahu and his cabinet, because it has been going on for two years, generously reported by media of all kinds, so the enablers knew exactly how the arms were to be used, as a tool for revenge, domination, and humiliation of the Palestinian people.  The conflict has ceased to be about the defense of anything for months.

The parties responsible have made a mockery of decency, morals, fairness, proportion, or justice, not to mention empathy.  Of what little there was, these concepts will be a lot longer to come back than they were to be struck down.

I have not been able to recover access to my other account [https://soundcloud.com/ha-kekong] for a couple of years.  I have tried a few times to get back into it but SoundCloud doesn't trust me.  Same phone number, same email addresses, and they still claim that they can't verify my identity.  I created that account about three years ago as a substitute to my regular account which SoundCloud temporarily closed.  They closed it as part of some upgrade procedure in their system, the result of a bug that affected many accounts, about two years ago.  Since SC did not inform its users I didn't know if that was permanent or not, so I created that other account which I can't access.  Don't be mad if I have not replied to your message in the past two years, that's because I never got them ; ) ... You can always reach me here though.

You can't see it because of the angle with which I took the shot, aiming down, but beyond those blocks is the sea.  To the left is the Mediterranean, to the right is the Atlantic Ocean.  No it's not Gibraltar, but a little bit further West. ... Actually I checked recently and it is further North more than West, I thought I was facing South when in fact I probably was facing the Atlantic ocean, which is why I suppose the waves were of a decent size where we were.
