RHYTHMICALLY INCLINED PODCAST: EPISODE 028: GUEST MIX BY JON TETLY

Helsinki based producer DJ Sofa continues to be a force to be wreck-end with in the Jungle scene. Starting off producing HipHop, House and UKG since 2012, this self taught producer quickly found her love for Jungle and Hardcore beats. With some solid DNB releases on Midnight Sun Recordings, Sofa's jungle flavours on Midnight Sun and Straight up Breakbeat found the ears of some the scenes best jungle connoisseurs. Sofa has had support from the like of Tim Reaper, Coco Bryce, Mantra, Flight and plays on BBC Radio 1.
She made her UK debut at top London Jungle night - Rupture, and has since been back for Tim Reaper's night Future Retro, also with a forthcoming release in the bag!
In Finland, Sofa is a resident for Straight Up Breakbeat and VOM and when she's not writing beats, you can find her hosting a monthly radio show on IDA Helsinki called 'Rough Around The Edges'
With forthcoming vinyl releases on staple labels such as Myor, Lobster Theramin and Future Retro, Sofa has made a huge impact on the Jungle scene already and continues to flourish as a producer.

This week, we’ve secured a belter of a guest mix from the mysterious underground soldier; @strictly-flava 🔊 

One for the heads, Strictly are consistently sourcing and releasing the hardest new tracks from the depths of the underground. In 2021 alone they dropped 65 releases, most of which are cheap as chips and released for the love of the music 💜 these man aren’t for the TikTok generation. No flashy gimmicks, no viral videos, just pure, unadulterated bangers. 

2022 has been no different, with a hugely varied series of tracks, guest mixes and collabs, it’s a certi that Strictly ticks the boxes of a true garage n house connoisseur. 

Properly nailing the balance of quality and quantity, we’ve found ourselves relying on Strictly to help load up the collection on so many occasions.

Their sub-label “Strange Times” has become a go-to, and the tracks from our guy @jay_ward_beats (1/2 of @dubplatepressureuk) are up there with our favourite string of releases. Too clean every single time; absolutely worth checking out.
