J.J.'s Picks Quarterly - March 2, 2024

The faceless, soulless capitalist cabal offers its sincerest condolences and apologies for monetizing life itself, but the apology is hollow and meaningless, falling upon decidedly unsympathetic ears.

How might it sound if our global corporate overlords offered their most lizard-heart-felt apologies for any "inconvenience" their greed and avarice have brought upon our lives? We think it might sound pretty insincere. You know, like a gaslighting apology: "We're sorry you feel that way." There may be an official apology "issued" but culpability is nowhere in sight.

This song started as an innocent and good natured attempt on our part to collaborate with Holy Shitshow @user-649412648 who provided the original piece months ago which inspired this whole crazy chain of events. 

Next thing we knew, it was this whole song and the raft had drifted pretty far away from collaboration island in the process. We still used the piece in the song, and we are grateful for HS to be a part of it in the end. We think it made for a great foundation and love the ambiance it provides to the whole song. was worried about posting this theft and all - a song dear to me as i wrote the guitar part 19 years ago.

Whenever a musician hears it they haven't a clue what's being played except the bassline so i'm safe :)

i'm sure i had a better mix, will re-record on my own studio one day when i'm not pissed up on whiskey :) true fact: some of the backing vocals at the end are me saying, 'Hon-da Hon-da Hon-da' like the car

For each musical piece there is a story hidden inside. Enjoy this "Hidden Inside", played on the virtual version of The Giant. Until recently it was the biggest piano in the world but now it's creator, David Klavins, made even bigger Regina. I got the chance to play The Giant in real life and I hope to get a chance to play Regina this year!
