Started to work in public relations for various Clubs. In 1987 he was hired by the record store “Sound Records” in Madrid (Spain), where he listened to multiple sets by Larry levan and Francis Grasso (DJ’s who mixed at “Paradise Garage and “Santuario”, both from New York), and becomes an admirer of their body of work, their succession of rhythmic beat, how they blend and entwine their love of disco music with other music sounds; they have played a mayor influence in Julio’s work. That same year, he maked his debut at the “Vogues” club, where he impressed the public with the easiness of his mixing. 
In 1988, the acid house phenomenon arrives, and Julio is a pioneer of this sound in his city. Then in 1989, his career takes off, when he begins working at “Joy Eslava” in Ma-drid, where promotors begin to pay attention to his style.
 In 2000 he started working at the club “ Pacha” in Madrid ( Spain )That same year he was hired by Virgin Records as A & R director, responsible for the release in Spain of the French duo Daft Punk (among others). and the end of that year he compiled and mixed the album "Fortuna Coolture Music" a double CD with a sam-ple of items and Chill-out house / lounge of most current in the culture of clubs and produces its first track name " Private sound " both taken under the label Tempo Music.
In 2001 he toured around Spain´s biggest cities with the “ Fortuna Coolture music “ Tour.
 In 2003 he starts working at the club "Shabay" in Madrid, being its official
Resident Dj, later that year he´s chosen by the fashion magazine GQ to make the compila-tion "Chill out Experience GQ, creating one of the best chill out sessions of this year.
 In the year 2005, he´s chosen as the only resident DJ of the tour " JB nightology ", visiting the mos  important cities of the Spanish coast. 
In 2007 Julio released his second track called "Moon shitar" under Tribo records label.
 His sessions are built on cutting-edge and sophisticated dyes with a strong positive charge that characterizes his personality, offering a mix of sounds and shades, by not reaching the ears only, but also the heart, constituting a genuine call to the delight of senses.

Su afición por la música desde pequeña empezó con DEPECHE MODE, gran fan de DAVE GAHAN.

En un principio con la doble pletina comenzó a desarrollar lo que más tarde se convertiría en su forma de vida "La mezcla".

En 1989 decide, pese a su corta edad, embarcarse en el proyecto que todavia mantiene junto a su compañero y socio, el club SPECKA.

Residente en algún tramo de su dilatada carrera de salas como: K-tedral, Attica, Xcándalo (Madrid), Amnesia y El Cortijo (Caños de Meca-Cádiz), La Jungla (Talavera de la Reina) y por supuesto SPECKA.

Ha realizado Dj sets en salas tan representativas como ONE Tech club, Code@Fabrik, Family club (Sonseca), Herbalism (London)...y un largo etc a lo largo de la geografía española.

Obsesionada con la "mezcla perfecta", realiza un curso de técnico de sonido en 1995, donde descubre el entorno digital. Se especializa en editar (cuantizar) temas que de otra manera sería imposible disfrutar en una sesión de mezclas.

Her, interest for the music began with DEPECHE MODE and DAVE GAHAN. In the beginning with the double deck (HIFI) she began to develop what later would turn into her way of life " The mix".

In 1989 she decided, in spite of her short age, to embark in the project that she still supports together with her companion and associate, the club SPECKA.

Fresh raised and handpicked from the House groves of Orlando, Florida, USA. Markis began his DJ start amongst the times top clubs and DJs. Always interested and influenced by music he took to learning and playing the piano, guitar and flute fluently at an early age.

Markis found his way through the operation and scene of local Orlando clubs as a young sound
and lighting engineer. Constantly surrounded and consumed by hard driving House, Markis
couldn’t resist hitting the decks himself in 1998. With his focus and sight set on moving the dance
floor he acquired residencies at Orlando’s ICON, Firestone, Zinc Bar and Tabu aka the Beecham
Theatre. This giving him the opportunity to play alongside well known DJs such as, Dave
Cannalte, Kimball Collins, Cliff T, Hybrid, Donald Glaude, Taylor, Gabriel & Dresden, Timo Maas,
DJ Three, DJ Dan and more. His Orlando success paved the way to Miami’s Bangin’ South Beach, where he played many top clubs & events including Miami’s Winter Music Conference at the Clevelander.

While bringing his unique dynamic house & breaks blend to clubs across the US, Markis followed a short side-stop in Denver, CO in 2007 that lead him to his first International gig at Mexico City´s well known after hours club, the Doberman.
This opened an invitational door to a weekly residency, poolside at Maxim Magazine’s Beach Club @ ME Hotel in Cancun, Mexico.

Markis has returned back to the US after a nearly 4 year stay in Lima, Peru to the Milwaukee, WI area.  He is the first North American DJ to hold a weekly residency in South America – at 
Bartini Lounge in Lima, Peru for two years.
Gotica, Aura, Casa Vieja, Xcess, Cabash, Insomnia, Macarena, are just a few other Lima
Nightclubs, along with a variety of private & beach events Markis has played through his years spent in Peru. He is also the first North American DJ invited to play in some smaller Peruvian cities including Cusco and Arequipa, & the first International DJ invited to play in Tarapoto, Huacachina, Cajamarca and Chiclayo.

With many ventures in sight, including music production and a monthly residency at TRUST – Vanity in Orlando, Markis will continue to hit and help develop the dance music scene hard.

Markis se crió en Orlando Florida donde comenzó su carrera como DJ desde el comienzo en clubes y discos. Él siempre estuvo influenciado por la música que obtuvo aprendiendo a tocar el piano, guitarra y flauta desde pequeño
. 
Markis encontró su propio camino hacia el escenario Dj como ingeniero de luces y sonido al comienzo. Contantemente rodeado y acostumbrado por el hard driving house, Markis no podía resistir tocar música desde el año 1998. Enfocado y poniendo la mira en hacer mover a la gente con su música logró trabajar como DJ principal en Orlando’s Icon, Firestone, Zinc Bar y Tabu aka the Beecham Theatre. Esto le dio la oportunidad de tocar al lado de DJs conocidos en el medio como Dave Cannalte, Kimball Collins, Cliff T, Hybrid, Donald Glaude, Taylor, Gabriel &amp; Dresden, Timo Maas, DJ Three, DJ Dan y mas. 

Su éxito le abrió las puertas para poder tocar en Miami’s Bangin’ South Beach. Hoy sigue recibiendo una invitación anual al Miami’s Winter Music Conference en el club the Cleavlander. 
Mientras mostraba su única mezcla de Electro House por todo estados unidos, en el año 2007 Markis tuvo la oportunidad de tocar en Denver Colorado y ahí tuvo la oportunidad de estar medio año como DJ principal en Maxim Magazine’s Beach Club @ ME Hotel en Cancún, México.
 
Markis ahora está en Lima Perú. Él es el primer DJ norte americano que trabajó como DJ principal en Bartini por dos años, haciendo estallar a los mejores clubs de Lima con sus mezclas como: Gotica, Aura, Casa Vieja, Xcess, Cabash, Insomnia, Macarena, entre muchos otros. Markis también ha sido DJ en una variedad de fiestas privadas en las playas durante tres años +. 
Es también el primer DJ norte americano invitado a tocar en pequeñas provincias de Perú como Cusco, Arequipa, Tarapoto, Huacachina, Cajamarca y Chiclayo. Con este camino tan venturoso Markis continuará tocando y ayudando fuertemente al desarrollo de la música.

Named after Stanley Cohen’s book on youth subcultures “Folk Devils and Moral Panics”, this highly underrated British band was as far as one could get from ‘folk music’ at the time. They were formed by Co. Durham native Ian Lowery (formerly of The Wall and Ski Patrol) in late 1983 with a line up that consisted of Whiteley (Bass), Kris Jozajtis (Guitar) and Alan Cole (Drums). Throughout their short lifespan, the band released several acclaimed independent singles including “Hank Turns Blue”, “Beautiful Monster”, 1985’s intense “Fire And Chrome” EP, and recorded three sessions for BBC Radio’s John Peel Show.
 
By early 1984, their heady brew of swampy rock on a bed of bastardized blues had created a vehicle for Lowery’s increasingly misanthropic worldview. A well-honed gutter poet since the early days of punk, Ian developed an idiosyncratic style, fusing a natural gift for sly wordplay and a well-turned snarky phrase with his often vitriolic and poignant lyrics channeled through an explosive onstage persona. By 1985, their sound was becoming sharp, ominous, brooding and urgent, and had taken shape with the help of producer Richard Mazda, with whom they collaborated several times. The band moved label and management duties to Nick Jones’ KARBON operation, gigging constantly, most memorably sharing bills with the likes of The Fall, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Gun Club and Spacemen 3. They also toured extensively throughout Europe and were featured prominently in the UK music press. Sadly, by early 1986 frustration within their ranks had created a point of no return, and the band imploded.
These newly digitally re-mastered recordings have been painstakingly restored from the original master tapes, which had spent 30 years languishing in Nick Jones’ archives. Never before released on CD, the re-mastered sound captures the ragged fury and adrenalized energy that uniquely characterized the Folk Devils oeuvre. Also included here are eight demo recordings that feature some of their best unreleased material, both musically and lyrically.
Listening again to the ferocious sonic snarl of Whiteley’s Rickenbacker, Kris Joz’s rhythmic wall of sound and sparse, blues-inflected guitar figures, Al’s crisp, metronomic drumming, and Ian’s artful, grimy tales of love, loss, loathing and libation, one can’t help but think it was becoming a sound unto itself, an insatiable and yes, beautiful, monster. We hope you enjoy these resurrected gems, and in doing so, join us in honoring the band’s legacy and paying tribute to the twisted genius of Ian Lowery, who died in 2001, age 45.
