This track was written in Spring. A time we also call ‘the quickening’.
It’s a reflection of life’s turns, the way time moves, the quiet things. It’s about love of life, each other and nature.
When I wrote this it seemed to come from the depths of my belly;  blossoming as it emerged like the first delicate snowdrops of the season.
It’s a song about all things seen and unseen.

The Quickening / Untethered and Brave

Rainy Days and Puddles is a track written about life in a sleepy town in Lancashire where life is current and happening, but not rushed! 
Here in our little town we have a cobbled road running through a high street of independent shops and people that like a good natter!
When I was a kid, absolutely everybody knew each other and ‘nipping out for milk’ meant an hour of bumping into people or shop owners and having a natter and even sometimes a cuppa to boot! You’d still come back with the milk, but you certainly had to wait for it! Jez and I often had small parties with our lovely friends in the house and garden- playing music, chatting, eating and laughing around the blazing open fire until the wee early hours.
Here the weather is unpredictable to say the least! 
But that rarely stopped us lighting the fire outside, making a shelter and getting the instruments out! 
There’s a saying ‘round here; 
‘If you can see the hills, it’s gonna rain,
If you can’t see the hills, it’s raining already’

Rainy Days and Puddles

Jez&Emma have been composing and performing songs and music for over 11 years.
Between just two of them they play an array of instruments to accompany Emma’s stunning, stirring vocals and her thought-provoking lyrics, which include guitar, piano, ukulele, bazooki,  bodhran, djembe and shruti box.

Not only do Jez&Emma compose their own songs, but they perform with warmth and laughter, meaning and soul.
Connecting with the audience in a way that makes everyone feel at home and leave with a smile in their step and a dance in their heart.

Their musical influences are eclectic throughout the ages and include the likes of Laura Marling, Roberta flack, Eric Bibb, Frank Zappa, Martha Tilston, Gillian Welch, The Doors, AC/DC, Gabriel Aplin, Seize The Day, 
The Houghton Weavers, Karine Polwart, Alanis Morissette and so, so many more!

After a short break due to illness, Jez&Emma are back on the scene recently releasing the EP ‘Stay Wild’.
