古い歯科医院の廊下で
漆喰の天井を見上げている
ぼんやりと電灯が灯るが
長椅子に居並ぶ待合の人々の境目がわからない
わたしはもう死んでいるのだが
死んだからといって何ということもない
いつもとかわらないと思う
ただ薄暗く寄り集まる人々には
わたしの姿が見えないらしい
わたしには人々の姿が見えるのに
わたしの姉だけはわたしの姿が見える
というよりわたしがいることがわかるらしいのだが
わたしにはその姉だけが見えない

In the hallway of an old dental clinic, I gaze up at the plaster ceiling.
A dim light glows on the ceiling, but I can't make out the boundaries between the people sitting on the benches in the waiting area.
I'm already dead, but being dead doesn't really mean anything.
I think it's just the same as always.
Only, it seems the people huddled together in the dim light can't see me.
Even though I can see them.
Only my elderly sister can see me.
Or rather, she seems to know I'm there,
but I can't see her.
