‘Jardin du passé’, which means garden of the past, talks about the ghosts of past love stories, lived halfway or to the fullest, dreamed or for real, leaving behind only the nostalgic memory of what was supposed to be the love of a life, but ended up revealing itself as being only a big fantasy.

In this song, Inyha evokes the often thin border between reality and imagination, passionate love and love for passion, unjustified nostalgia and memories we want to keep close to our heart.

Added some world vocal samples in the intro. I think it’s in Gaelic. Was inspired by Deshi Basara by Hans Zimmer but I wanted to give the chanting a melody. Piano progression was something I played for years and finally developed. Had no idea I had a bit of Dorian thrown in the arpeggios. There’s also some slap bass for the chorus. The strings incorporate the vocal melody and there’s also a dorian #4 in the verses. 

Lyrically, I took lines from The Dark Knight Rises. It’s basically another song of mine about self empowerment.
