La musica arriva presto a far parte della mia vita. E già all’età di 14 anni inizio a scrivere canzoni. Dopo varie esperienze come bassista in un gruppo e in un’orchestra nel 1999 pubblico il mio primo cd dal titolo “Arekanas”. Lascio la musica per 20 anni e nel 2019 riprendo a pubblicare canzoni. Alcune di queste nuove pubblicazioni raggiungono oltre 570 mila ascolti.

Pure review:
PURE – X(Melon), Cabriolet Records, Sweden

When this one arrived I had mixed expectations. I hadn’t had much exposure to Swedish bands apart from the obvious pop icons or the likes of the brilliant Teenage Idols or The Hives. After the first 2 bars of high-hat intro on ‘Pure’ I knew this song was a winner! It’s what I would call pop/punk, gutsy, lots of guitars, punkish lyrics and a great melody all delivered with solid production. One of the things I like most is the deviation this tune takes into a mellower middle 8 and then straight back into the Pistolish verse roaring ‘I close my eyes and London’s burning’. It’s the deviations that add colour to this song that makes it distinctive from just another punk song. The fact that X(Melon) are from Helsingborg in Sweden and not London, LA or New York is possibly the reason that ‘Pure’ sounds rather unique or gives us an important geographical flavour. The flips, ‘X Rebellion’ and ‘Today’s Special Red Face’ are similar to ‘Pure’ but are a bit moodier and not as melodic. However, ‘Today’s Special’ deviates a bit too far from its original style but effortlessly returns to its verse and chorus to save the day. This is a refreshing, exciting and significant single that could be the beginning of great things to come for X(Melon). Personally, I love it!!
