ANY MAJOR INFLUENCES OF NOTE?

Oh wow thats like asking me “what’s your favorite episode of fresh prince?”. Well let’s start with the King of pop Michael Jackson. I also love the old Motown like Bill Withers, Muddy Waters, Stevie Wonder. Jimi Hendrix for how he revolutionized guitar and the Jam scene The Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia for almost the same reasons. I have drawn vocal comparisons to Seal and Darius Rucker and oddly enough hadn’t listened to their music until then. I have grown to appreciate their sound and others in that “grown on me category are Maroon 5, Chili peppers, Sublime, No Doubt. Some timeless icons in Daft Punk, Usher, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé. Hip Hop legends like Kanye West, Jay-Z, 2pac, Nas, Big Pun, Eminem, Ludacris, lil wayne. Drake and Kendrick Lamar in that in-between stage. Up and comers like the Weekend and Hozier There are so many incredible artists that I draw inspiration from I feel terrible because I know I’m leaving out at least 20 names that should be up here. Like John Mayer. 

WHAT IS YOUR SOUND LIKE?

I have been asked that question so much and every time I give a different response. I guess it’s the same as my sound constantly changing and evolving. My friends would always joke and say I never write the same thing once. It’s a sound I am sure most people will hear and say oh well the drums sound like this but the melody has a different feel and the drop seems to change genres. It’s subtly a mesh of whatever genres I last listened to. I try to keep the lyrics clever and clear while leaving room for interpretation and some punchlines you will only understand the 4th or 5th time through the song. I guess If I had to describe my sound in one word? Maliciousmelodys.

4PLUS1 is a Coed Kpop Cover group formed in early 2012 on Youtube. We cover new kpop songs and old kpop songs, basically whatever we feel like covering. We spend a lot of time working on our covers, from figuring out all the harmonies, to line splitting, to recording, to mixing, and we hope our effort shows. We ended up getting a small following on Facebook and Youtube, so we decided to branch out to SoundCloud as well. 

Ultimately we are just five friends covering Kpop songs for fun.

Wenn Al Pride stattfindet, dann verliert sich selbst ein Roboter des 21. Jahrhunderts im Liebesrausch und stürzt sich in ein Farbenmeer aus erdig warmen Tönen. Darin treibt er unbeschwert, getragen von verspielten Strömen aus überaus eingängigen, prägnanten Melodien. Al Pride haben in der Schweizer Musiklandschaft mit ihrem Debut ‚Hello Blue Light’ in den letzten eineinhalb Jahren für Furore gesorgt. 
Nun wartet ein neues Album. Grösser, reifer, intensiver. Produziert wurde ‚Another Color’ von Lars Christen und Luk Zimmermann (Lunik). Die Band behält darauf ihr ‚Händchen für perfekte Popsongs’ (SRF, 2012), melodiös und eingängig aber keinesfalls anspruchslos. BIOGRAPHY
He is a songwriter, pianist, vocalist with a range spanning four octaves, and a linguist who speaks five languages.  His name is Kenny Wesley.  With three acclaimed projects, two Washington-Area Music (Wammie) Awards, multiple collaborations and compilation features, and a slew of high-profile performances under his belt, including a win as a finalist, and the sole U.S. representative for the 2013 Montreux Jazz Festival’s Shure Vocal Competition, Kenny has firmly placed his stamp on the burgeoning modern music movement.  

His songs, fusing elements of jazz, funk, classical, folk and gospel, have been prominently featured on radio, film and TV – including the FOX series So You Think You Can Dance.  A welcomed guest to festivals and legendary venues across the globe such as SXSW, The Kennedy Center, Southport Weekender, Blues Alley, Montreux Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scotts, The Fillmore, The White House, The Blue Note, Black Cat, Howard Theatre, Bohemian Caverns, and The Apollo Theatre Cafe, he has shared the stage with numerous artists and musicians including Alice Smith, Eric Roberson, Maysa, Vinx, Rachelle Ferrell, Stephanie Mills, Vikter Duplaix, Leela James, Federico Peña, Charnett Moffett, Frédéric Yonnet, Mino Cinélu, Debórah Bond, Kindred and The Family Soul, N’Dambi and Syleena Johnson.
