One of techno’s most exciting contemporary acts, Joyhauser, unveil their highly-anticipated debut album In Memoro. Chartered via their staple home Terminal M, the twelve-track LP was teased in recent months with the release of its lead singles Wasted, Liberty and Bassdrone. The full-length studio album is now available to stream across all digital platforms, with its subsequent vinyl release set for {{DATE}}.

Encroaching on the pinnacle of success, the release of In Memoro marks a seminal point in the duo’s career. Having delivered a consistent stream of hit records for the underground community, the pair’s inaugural album showcases their production efforts on the global stage, expanding on their flourishing discography in conceptual style. Representing some of their most daring and progressive opuses to date, In Memoro’s collection of tracks give us a more realised impression of the duo’s unrelenting creativity and ability to not only create peak-time worthy records, but to produce with ‘the journey’ in mind. Clocking countless studio hours over the past three years, Joyhauser’s debut 12” is a record that has been eagerly awaited by the modern audience for some time, and it doesn’t fail to deliver.

The previously released Wasted, Liberty and Bassdrone welcomed huge support across the club and festival circuits, entering the touring playlists of almost every major DJ in the scape. Fuelled by unrelenting drum patterns, hearty kicks and rapturous melodies, the cuts proved to be the anthemic gems of 2022/2023 and resumed their top charting placements respectively.

To the excitement of long-standing fans, In Memoro features a whole host of domineering techno hits that champion the stylistic leanings we’ve come to know and love from the pair. LXR02 is one of these offerings. Upping the tempo, Joyhauser shine a spotlight on their signature sound, delivering high-impact cosmic synth work and a meaty kick drum; attributes that have labelled them masters of their craft. The feisty Hemera sets an authoritative tone from the off, presenting a powerful synth lead and rave stabs that celebrate the sweet spot between techno’s foundational records and its modern sensibilities. These same dynamic characteristics can be found within Roam Zwei, Pulsar, Lightbringers and A Beautiful End Of The World, making them the heroes of festival season and serving as essential additions to the duo’s impeccable back catalogue.  

Woven between the album’s peak-time worthy hits are a series of ambient and crossbreed offerings that present an entirely new perspective to Joyhauser’s sound palate. The opening cut Leben welcomes the album in cinematic style, providing listeners with a deeply emotive introduction to this compelling body of work. Hints of vocal chops and an impressive synth riff enter the space, bending between old school rave and acid influences before erupting into a climactic breakbeat moment. Expanding on this alternative musical direction and showing their immense versatility in the studio, the duo treat us to another breakbeat number in Anamorphic. Cross-pollinating these percussive influences with techno-leaning synth work, world-music vocal injections and dreamy soundscapes, Joyhauser deliver a refined hybrid production that’s littered with grand apex moments. The stunning Astral Projection, gives us a moment of reflection between the bellowing techno cuts. As its name suggests, the pair provide us with serene soundscapes and high twinkling synths, introducing a warmly familiar breakbeat foundation that will leave audiences wanting more from this sound profile.

The DJ, producer, and label founder Boris Brejcha continues to stay in the spotlight. After releasing his single "Level One" in April, the next highlight of this year is now on the horizon. Boris Brejcha finally unveils a track that many of his fans have been waiting for: “Space X“.
In addition to his studio success, things are also going well for the German producer on tour. Following a successful tour start in Germany and Mexico, the legendary Fckng Serious Bus Tour took place in North America in April, including performances at the world-famous Coachella festival. In May, there were further shows in the USA, including a performance on the main stage at EDC Las Vegas. The tour calendar is packed with shows and festivals worldwide, as well as exclusive "In Concert" shows, offering many special surprises for all guests.
Boris Brejcha’s next single "Space X" should now get fans fired up for what's to come this year. The two main elements in "Space X" are the chord progression and the melody, which combine to create the vocals. The melody part sounds like the creation of a new and untouched planet. The song gradually builds up from the beginning with a driving beat, racing percussion, a drum roll, and distortion, leading up to the big bang.
This idea of exploring a new planet is supported by the exclusive music video, which was shot on Iceland especially for this song. Boris and his crew captured breathtaking pictures that showcase the new planet. In this area, where the music video was shot, the early moon landing and the current Mars mission were already practiced.

Crosstown Rebels’ sub-label Rebellion returns with a fourth instalment of its ongoing SOULS series, with fresh tracks from a selection of exciting, up-and-coming talent.

Curated by label head Damian Lazarus, Rebellion’s excellent SOULS series has always transcended sounds and scenes to dig deep into the most forward-thinking new electronic niches. It has a deeply embedded spiritual theme, like most projects with which Lazarus is associated, and this volume again connects the dots between a number of innovative producers from across the globe.

Belgrade and Mykonos-based duo MĪMĪ x FY open up with ‘Robotic Mode’, linking with Estray for a silky synthlaced house cut that goes deep into a cosmic future. The deft chords, spoken words and sci-fi signifiers enrich the groove perfectly. Brazil's Vini Pistori is next with ‘Hypnotized’, a scintillating fusion of pixelated melodies and bright, starry-eyed chords over a drawn-out and languid groove that is perfect for the late-night hours.

Frequent collaborators MILI and Hoomance then step up with ‘Casa Mama’, a playful cut with a carnival feel thanks to the characterful horns which bounce about over the crisp drums. It's a track full of soul and sunshine that captures the joy of dancing outdoors. Israeli-born DJ and producer OMRI closes things with the rubbery bass and skewed synth futurism of his off-grid percussive masterclass, 'Funk Rhythm.’

Another taste-making statement from the label and Lazarus, Rebellion presents SOULS Vol.4 is loaded with the sounds of tomorrow across another excellently curated package.

Vini Pistori - Hypnotized

A new artist to the Particles roster, Amir Telem's music is not defined by genres, instead placing an emphasis on a "deep sense of connectivity to something higher". This approach has seen his work signed to a host of impressive imprints including UV Noir, Timeless Moment and Everything Will Be OK. His Particles debut opens with the title track as the popping percussive cadence provides the opportunity for a shimmering arpeggio and deep sustained bassline to shine on "Sweet Longing". A beautiful piano sequence adds to the melodic collage in emotive fashion before a brassy synth makes its play. Extending the melodic phrasing post-breakdown, a fizzing vibrant energy characterises the impressive piece.

An artist with a bold and growing reputation, BLANCAh continues to dazzle from her home in Florianópolis. Through her own Hiato Music and a wealth of tracks featuring on Timeless Moment, Sprout and 2020's full-length "Arias of Sky" for Renaissance", the Brazilian has flourished. A single remix for Petar Dundov marked BLANCAh's Proton Music debut as she joins Particles with a suitably powerful offering. Reworking "Sweet Longing", the BLANCAh rework creates a driving dancefloor groove with a syncopated bassline and fizzing top-line. Building in intensity, the melodic themes of the original are innovatively retained while extended outward in glorious new direction creating an elegant new remix.

Mariner + Domingo require little introduction; both excelling at their chosen artform. Renowned DJ's and producers, the pair have a rich history between them. Almost a double century of production credits bear witness to that fact as the US duo have seen their work feature on the likes of Sound Avenue, Balkan Connection and The Purr. Regulars on Particles, March 2021's "Azimuth" was followed by "Lose Control" two months later. Further bookended by remixes for Izzet and Petar Dundov, the pair now return with a typically deep and evocative remix of "Sweet Longing". Making strong use of the melancholic sustained bassline of the original, Mariner + Domingo have created a slightly more stripped back affair that revels in a deep atmosphere and sonic landscape. Making excellent use of Amir Telem's remix parts, an exquisite new chord progression is added to the production arrangement to create a sumptuous dancefloor gem.

The richly talented duo Mathame featured on the second Realm Of Consciousness compilation and have since been regulars in the sets of Tale Of Us with some sought-after, unreleased tracks. Their distinctive treatment of vocals marks their tracks out instantly, nowhere more so than on ‘Nothing Around Us’, with the cyber voice of the young Italian artist Lyke. The top quality production and original sound continue with the more understated ‘22’ and end with another prime example of Mathame’s vocal work, ‘Fade Into You’. This EP is a bold statement that crystallises the well-deserved excitement around Mathame.

Following 2018’s ‘Nothing Around Us’ single, Mathame show no sign of slowing down. Their Afterlife Recordings follow up is a dancefloor single of epic proportions, taking the duo further into a realm of their own. Tension hangs off the sliding chords and spacious arrangements. In the case of ‘Skywalking’ it reaches an uplifting, euphoric crescendo, in Tale Of Us’ intro edit of ‘Departure’ the theme goes darker and off-kilter. Mind Against are back on Afterlife with two emotive, dancefloor masterpieces. ‘Walking Away’, featuring the deeply-affecting vocals of Port St. Willow, centers around uplifting harmonic elements and a resonant drum pattern. It strikes that special balance of light and dark which makes Mind Against’s tracks uniquely cathartic. ‘Bloom’ is more a melancholy, downtempo interpretation of their vision. The percussion is restrained and sits deep below atmospheric pads and piano chords, eventually arriving at a gradual and subtle peak. Mind Against reach euphoric heights once again, though this time by a patient and reflective path.
