Between his frequent musical pilgrimages to Haiti and the development of fresh solo material in Venice-based studio, Joseph Ray of NERO has locked into a new, exhilarating and cavernous club sound with his forthcoming two-tracker on Anjunadeep, 'Room 1.5 / Chem-EX'.

Ahead of its release on August 20, Ray has handed over 'Room 1.5' for a premiere. 

"This track was inspired by my days listening to jungle... fuzzy memories from the London nights when I got into dance music," Ray told Mixmag. "Those sounds and atmospheres have never really left me and this is my homage to them."

There are no generic basslines or sample packs involved.  Ardalan reaches all the way back to early 2000s while updating the sound with modern mixdowns and clever production tricks. The album is weird yet danceable, classic yet futuristic.  

After watching Ardalan develop his sound and musical career over the years, we're proud to see him turn in this forward-thinking record that pushes his sound to the future.
