Nick Ray is an independent producer/singer/songwriter from New Orleans. His music career began as a lead singer in the local scene performing with numerous rock and alternative bands. I've grown up in the 80s and I like the music of that era very much. That's the decade that inspires my instrumental music which, I think, is a bit evocative of that period. I always try to choose, where possible, the sounds and some chord sequences that give the feel of that era.

🎵  inspired by hip hop of the 90s.  jazz fusion, citypop, studio ghibli, japanese movies. I make lofiish instrumentals with own flavour and releasing it as beat tapes or albums. You can find my music on all platforms.

emergent soundscapes, beats and rhythms, motifs and melodies, manifest from this uncharted terrain of synthoid encountered experiences.

With over 140k plays on SoundCloud since January 2021 and hitting the top 20 RepostExchange Underground Charts on a consistent basis suggests this was not a bad idea after all😉
