Continuing to evolve my Ableton setup, I've added the Push2 midi controller. I sent the first tune that I created with it over to @enigmacurry. I felt like it my initial composition was a bit too linear and it needed to be mixed up a little! He produced two amazing remixes. Here's the shorter one.

Pulled this old song out the other day and have been working on it. I've always enjoyed the melody. Written over 10 years ago. This is one of those back burner songs, never felt complete due to a second verse, and that came quick the other night, crazy how that happens, after so many years, but it's all about timing. I did this live take tonight, on once again the old Baldwin:) This was no first take...took a few, always worth it...it's such a nice feeling hitting that final chord...knowing...okay that was it! This song began with Josh coming up with it on his electric piano and fretless bass, to which he added some banjo, then mandolin. Once he had a solid basis for the song, he shared it with the rest of Eclectic Collective for them to add their parts. 
  Ken was first up, adding his drums in an such a creative way that matched Josh's bassline perfectly. It was originally recorded to a looper disco beat, but that was blown out of the water by Ken's creative drumming. Tez jumped in next, adding his thrilling guitar to the second half of the song. Not to be outdone, Stephen batted clean up, adding his textural and melodic guitar to the first half. He also added some subtle, but brilliant acoustic guitar to the first half, too. 
  This is a great example of Eclectic Collective coming up with an original band sound out of one of Josh's seeds. We're always pushing boundaries and trying to find fun and exciting ways to build a song. Lots of teamwork in here, too, of course. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.

This Is Not a Drill!

Way overdue for something new but I've been living in exile without the usual, albeit modest, setup I'm used to. So this might be pretty rough. And it's full of the usual horror at political realities and way full of schmaltzy velveeta. 

Guitarist note:  I don't have amps at present and was struggling to find a decent direct sound. There is a *free* VST plugin by Neural Amp DSP and online libraries of tone prints, also free, that came to the rescue. Highly recommended.
