Just had a quick listen to a few of your tunes; the melodies are most appealing, full of charm!

I made this for my little sister; it's a string of cameos about the town where we were born and raised - a suburb of Newcastle Upon Tyne.  Low income, but real world, real people, real troubles, real joy, real love, real communities, real humour, real music, real life.  All in gloriously rough 1960's industrial working class North East England monochrome.

For those of you not from that part of the world, lyric translations back to English are available upon request. :)

Started as a scribble, pretended to be a poem for a while, then I decided to noodle along and then.....  Ah, you know how it is.....in Byker town.

Where the sweeping headlights sprawled

In ‘67 the lid came down
Never played again so fair

Cross the bridge to get to school
Rope swings underneath
Bull’s eyes from the slaughterhouse 
Bombed out rail yard stark relief
Billy Smart’s big top’s coming down
But I don’t care

Stench of old men in the Raby Arms
A bottle of dog to take back yem
Dominos and baccy tins
Were all that mattered way back then
Every retail product to be found
In Ernie’s shop just six foot square

Quayside Sunday mornings
Champion, just the job
A week of meat to feed the bairns
For only fower bob
Scranshins from the chippy van ‘round
The side door of the Mayfair

Sent out on the Wednesday
In Charlie Shepherd’s finest rags
Over to the smokies
To get free broken kippers by the bag
Dad got paid when Thursday came around
Treats for us to share

Front step full of babbies
Grazed knees on skinny legs
Back lane rows of nappies
Her face is full of wooden pegs
He’s on the dole no work to be found
Torn bookie slips by his chair

Kids with mucky faces

Alien Booty Juice

What a wonderful tune Seagull sent me to collaborate on.  His nylon-string and bass playing is lovely but he asked if I could help with a second guitar voice.  The Taylor JKSM seemed the perfect fit with its sweet steel-string acoustic voice.  The undercurrent of meaning in the song is best described by Seagull himself:
"The song is called Stairway, and I realized that it reflects everyone's climb in life. We are encouraged and taught from birth that we must constantly get better at everything. Better upbringing, better behavior, better education, better job, better pay, better things, better health, better parent, better home, better car and so on...But what is the real goal of all this striving? Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with education hopefully producing better and more understanding and empathetic people, and a safer and nicer society. But.....and I think it's a big but.... as we are obviously being trained to buy all the happiness we need in life instead of experiencing it in a peaceful, healthy and experiential life." 
It is a question of what is ultimately important in our life and are we willing to make the climb to reach and attain it.  Something to ponder while you listen:)

There is a lot of evil in the world, but I am convinced that the vast majority of people are good and kind!

Approximate translation into English:

Friendly People

There is a people who want - that everyone should be kind to each other
but where have they gone - they may have to hide
because there are those who think they are terribly wrong
but it is so hard to understand
how these friendly people should speak
so that the world listens to them

We can find them in the north and south - but now they have hidden there in the east
you can wonder how the situation is there - they seem to be very scared
they are afraid of ending up behind bars
as the power is very cruel
but the friendly people must speak
so that the world can be good

Our world is so unstable now - one might wonder why it is like this
when we should be helping each other - through all the crises that
has arisen because of anger, and because of weather and wind
but it is so hard to understand

Thank you.

I have been playing guitar poorly for many years, supported by many wonderful friends.

In 1988, I discovered the joy of using MIDI files as a way to express my own music on a computer called ATARI 1040ST, and became obsessed with it. Fortunately or unfortunately, that obsession has continued to this day.

The only exception is the guitar part of No. 16 Onmyo, which I play with my fingers, but all the music posted on this Soundcloud is written with a mouse.

It's easier that way and I can discover the fun of chance.

The main reason I put together music is to find a melody that I like to listen to.

Therefore, the most fun time is when I try out various pitches on the screen.

Music has a mysterious power that reminds you of your past self. I hope that this music will help you remember your current self in the future.
