It’s hard to imagine Kollosus ​(derivative of the word “colossus” as in the colossal statue, one of the seven wonders of the world; depicting immense size, strength and stature) as JUST being a rapper. And looks can be very deceiving. This Jamaican ​bred, Decatur ​raised MC, has all the trappings of a contemporary superstar. So many, that one may think he almost fits the profile TOO well. His dynamic various rhythmic Hip Hop​styles and staccato Reggae ​flow gives him a unique swag that compares to none.

Kollosus​, whose given name is Kirk Young​, was born in Kingston​, Jamaica​, and migrated to the U​.S ​as a young teenager with his family. This timely transition in cultures offered him what has proven to be the best of both worlds in music, the arts and entertainment. This combination makes him the ideal candidate for the international market, while still having the full support of his core Atlanta foundation. No newbie to the industry, Kollosus ​was signed to Capitol ​records via the Atlanta ​based Block Ent​. Releasing various records, including features from mega stars, Gucci Mane​, Future​,

Rick​Ross​, Young Scooter​, Travis Porter​, R City ​and Gorilla Zoe ​just to name a few. Currently signed to another Atlanta ​based label, Pullover Music Group ​via a joint-­venture arrangement with his own, Known Business Men Entertainment​, Kollosus ​aims to “enlighten the music industry with an impact, machine, determination and force never seen before”. Not long after inking the deal, ‘Proper Etiquette​’ the mix-tape was released in the fall of 2015. Come this new year 2016, team Kollosus gears up to drop his forthcoming life changing single, “U Da One​” mixed by Tre Dot​.​

Melanie Martinez's creative drive and talents have always distinguished her from other musicians. After releasing her platinum-certified 2015 debut album, Cry Baby—which reached No. 1 on Billboard's alternative albums chart and has amassed over two billion streams worldwide —she conceived and directed a video for each song on the album. These mini-movies traced the traumas and insecurities experienced by the album's character, Cry Baby.
 
Melanie’s sophomore album and film, K-12, is another ambitious triumph. K-12's music is a vibrant and singular melting pot of low-key hip-hop, soulful pop and indie-leaning electro. K-12's universe is an expansion of the one introduced in Cry Baby. Using lyrics rich with metaphor, songs address the struggle to find a place to belong—including within friendships, the physical world and romantically—even when fitting into society feels like an uphill battle.
 
To accompany the album, Martinez wrote and directed a 90-minute movie (also called K-12) that incorporates the album's music and mirrors the themes and characters introduced. Filmed on location in Budapest, Hungary, the movie focuses on Cry Baby (portrayed by Martinez) and a class of students who find themselves trapped in a horror house-like residential school. As they experience the usual grade school rites of passage—a lunch room food fight, the embarrassment of gym class, a romance with nefarious intentions, courses taught by checked-out teachers— they have to figure out a way to escape.
