With much pride we present to you the first WEITER EP from 2018, a package containing remixes from Olivier Weiter & Alex Preda’s “Zebra & Moods” EP, released earlier in 2017.

With this package the label shows its musical variety, a remix for every moment, a remix for every mood. 

Kicking off with Ramon Tapia, who delivered a massive dance floor bomb interpretation of “Zebra”, taking you on a heavy techno trip. Made for the peak-time moments, the 4/4 in your face pumping sound of Ramon Tapia will do heavy damage on the dance floor. No time for emotional serenades, its all about basses and massive drops here! 

Melodic maestro Einmusik is taking you on a very emotional, melodic highway with his version of Zebra. Layer after layer, the uplifting melodies and subtle changes in the arrangement let you float away. Combined with Einmusik’s signature drums, it doesn’t loose the groove while in the meantime the track is reaching for the stars. Warm and melodic is the best way to describe this beautiful Einmusik remix of Zebra. 

Donatello made a re interpretation of “Moods” and is best described as tech house with a progressive twist. Vibing along the way, subtle parts of the original track are blending with Donatello’s years of experience as a top-notch producer. He made the original more dance floor friendlier and accessible. Donatello couldn’t be missed on this package, after delivering a massive debut EP on WEITER last year. We are very happy to have him on board again, and this remix shows why. 

To close the package, we have a very smooth remix from “Staves”, discovered by their latest remix on Nick Warren’s label the Soundgarden. Staves made a steady, groovy remix of Zebra, inspired by afterhours, sunsets, beaches and outdoor locations. Laidback, without loosing energy. A must have.

PREMIERE: Olivier Weiter & Alex Preda - Zebra (Einmusik Remix) [WEITER]

When Neon was originally released in 2006, it was a landslide. Being championed by Sven Väth for ages (and being one of the tracks that were the soundtrack to his notorious vocal performance at Time Warp that very year) - it was the track that ultimately cemented Gregor´s status as one of the main representatives for a new breed of Techno producers by inventing a trademark sound that shaped the path to the future. With the original recording being carefully remastered in Ljubljiana by Gregor Zemljic with greatest precision, this new version brings that trademark sound to life once again - or has it ever been away really?

On the flipside we have a remix by another notorious heavyweight: Butch! His version, originally sketched not so long after the original came out, takes the melodies of the original track to the housier floors. When Butch sent his version to Gregor a little bit over a year ago it actually established the idea of a re-release.

We believe there probably couldn´t be a better track than Neon to underline the name of our newly founded label: GTO - Gregor Tresher Originals

Following his much-loved remixes of Maribou State and ODESZA released on Anjunadeep in 2015, label favourite Daniel Goldstein aka Lane 8 returns with two stellar reworks of George FitzGerald’s 2017 anthem ‘Burns’.

Lane 8’s ‘Morning Mix’ is an ode to the lush atmosphere of the original, a highlight from George’s sophomore album ‘All That Must Be’ released earlier this year on Domino. With the original’s mesmerising vocal chops front and centre, Goldstein blends tranquil piano arpeggios and stuttering synth stabs to create a pensive soundscape imbued with melancholy.

The ‘Club Mix’ is a showcase of Lane 8’s trademark sound. Detuned chords, void-like atmospheres, and a thumping four-to-the-floor kick drum combine to create a fierce peak-time soundtrack.

Kaz James follows up a string of huge releases with ‘Life In Purple’, a huge, emotionally-charged house cut with which the Australian producer continues to set the bar incredibly high.

 

Kaz James is one of electronic music’s most indispensable talents having produced a slew of acclaimed house cuts and collaborating with the likes of Guy Gerber and DJ Tennis along the way.

 

2018 has been as busy and creative as ever for Kaz, with releases including ‘Paradise’ on Glasgow Underground – a Beatport Deep House #2 – ‘Twisted’ on Nic Fanciulli’s Saved and ‘Animal’ on Dennis Ferrer’s Objektivity among the many highlights. Dropping this November on Yousef’s acclaimed Circus imprint, ‘Life In Purple’ looks set to continue Kaz’s exceptional run of form.

 

Built around slowly evolving melodies and synth lines, ‘Life In Purple’ is that rare house cut that manages to be both emotionally engaging and an absolute banger at once. De Orde Van De Nacht (Part 2) (Extended Mix)

DGTL Records hits close to home with their latest release ‘Dancing Glass Figures’ by De Sluwe Vos. The dj/producer has been affiliated with DGTL since the beginning, as he played at numerous of their festivals from day one. So it was only a matter of time for De Sluwe Vos to release his music on DGTL’s label. With Dancing Glass Figures he delivers a strong 4- tracker that is truly hard to resist. De Sluwe Vos has been making waves lately, not only with his steady sets but also with his own label Patron Records, which has seen a string of well- supported releases since its launch.
Never Know, the first track of the EP, takes no prisoners, as this straight-up banger with the hard-hitting synth line keeps you captivated throughout the entire track. The repetitive vocoder vocals give the track a spacey touch, especially during the break. De Sluwe Vos teamed-up with fellow Amsterdammer Sjamsoedin, who’s known for his exceptional synth knowledge and hard-hitting live-sets. Together they produced a strong lead track that you will definitely get to hear a lot on the dance floor.
Fast rolling drums and a dreamy warm synth lure you into the title track Dancing Glass Figures. But don’t get too comfortable, halfway into the track you will get a sturdy surprise, which only makes the track more interesting, while taking you back to where it all started at the end of it all.
Moving on to the B-side. Sophisticated Topless Raver is mesmerizing, with an intriguing and hypnotizing melody that comes and goes throughout the track. Bringing in some hard claps and an eerie laughing vocal, this track for sure is one for the later hours.
Bambounou has the honour to close-off the EP with a remix of Sophisticated Topless Raver. The French dj/producer, who’s been on everybody’s radar this past year, slowed down the original version and added a sleazy bassline, synth stabs and extra percussion, while keeping the melody and the vocal. Making the track just as enticing as De Sluwe Vos’ version.
The artwork for this EP is – again – by the talented duo Boris Acket and Tim Straver.
