A rock band like Lady Moustache whilst playful electro-pop artists and dreamy singer-songwriters stand in full bloom in continental Europe may seem anachronistic – or seem refreshing exactly out of this reason: Neither megalomania or self-display, nor conformity to any hype stand in first place. With their rough and energetic sound, Lady Moustache seek to distract the surface, in that we want to reflect ourselves only in order to be seen in good light. Their music draws light on the less morally accepted topics, that we might try to ignore in our everyday routine, but that are nevertheless burning inside of us.
Through his charismatic voice, lead singer Horst Roxel expresses his inner fears and doubts without awe and self-pity, that come to life together with the thoughtful and intensive interactions between the instruments. Authentic and erratic like our lives – if we are able to cope with it. Anachronistic or timeless, it solely depends on the point of view.
