Leo Matthew had his first gig as a DJ back in 1991 at a small after-hours night club in Albuquerque called Maxwell’s. 
Leo had always been a fan of electronic music. Inspired by artists like The Pet Shop Boys, New Order, Depeche Mode, and Yaz, Leo knew at an early age that he wanted a career focused around this genre of music. His original hopes were to pursue a career as a radio DJ. As a teenager Leo was introduced to a variety of music by way of foreign exchange students who also shared his passion for this new wave of music. 
Leo realized that there was so much more out there on an international level than what was offered domestically. He looked to stores like Bow Wow Records and Her Majesty’s Secret Record shop in Albuquerque where he discovered new sounds by bands like My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Lords Of Acid, and The Shamen. Leo was on a quest to search out and possess as much of this style of music as possible.
Leo was introduced to Mark Zanoni, owner of Maxwell’s back in September of 1991 by a friend. Zanoni at the time was interested in Leo’s style of music and invited him to play the opening set of their popular Thursday night. At that time Leo had never seen or worked with a Technic’s 1200 turntable.
Leo played his first set radio style, one track to the next, using 2 standard home CD players. Even though he didn’t mix, something between what he was playing, and the crowd clicked in a very positive way. Zanoni offered Leo permanent residency alongside already residents Shawn Parker, Brad Cole, and Donovan. This was the beginning of an elite team of talent that would bring forth the underground dance movement in New Mexico along with other well respected talent like Eldon, Chris De Jesus, Kena, Deepsky, Gyrate, David Zaintz, Rev. Mitton, Donna Lee, Van Roy, Tok, and DJ Oona with so many more to follow.
From September of 1991 Leo never went a week without playing at least one gig. In his almost 20 years as a DJ, Leo was a major player at most underground rave parties in Albuquerque between 1991-2000. He’s held a successful reign of residences in nightclubs in both Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
Leo Matthew held the longest consistent DJ residency in New Mexico history at the legendary Pulse Night Club every Saturday night from April of 1996 to November of 2007.
Leo has represented the New Mexico scene with great pride over the years playing over 18 major US cities from San Francisco to Miami Beach. 
He has shared the turntables and been a part of grand events featuring such valued international talent as DJ Dan, Taylor, Sandra Collins, Avenue D, RuPaul, Lady Bunny, Jackie Beat, Kathy Griffin, Christopher Lawrence, Sasha, John Debo, John Bishop, Markie, Max Graham, Commander Tom, Sandy B, Everything But The Girl, Radio Head, Dead or Alive, Donald Glaude, Dave Seaman, Pete Tong, Joe Bermudez, Paul van Dyk, Tiffany, Daft Punk, Lee Coombs, Kaskade, Anne Savage, Bad Boy Bill, Markus Schulz, Richard Humpty Vission, BT, Margaret Cho, Kimberly S, Phil B, The Crystal Method, The Tidy Boys, Ralphi Rosario, Boy George, Deepsky, Dave Ralph, Rabbit In The Moon, NJoi, CL McSpadden, Rob Vaughn, Darude, DJ Irene, Kristine W, Paul Oakenfold, Gyrate, Jason Dunne, Chris Fortier, Tiesto, Ultra Nate, Jimmy Van M, and Joey Beltram.

Complexity needs hooks words should bait what is caught to become chum to catch a larger smarter part of our emotional Ocean linking us to music.we plot portions of our playbacks in playlists puddles numbed to dumb not deaf lessons other selections excitedly reasoned with the crazed Genius some songs provoke to soak up & choke on through the impact of vocals acting as the net that herds the coolest Nerds in Instrumental solo waves the words float on  when the performing voice sets the Anchors Karaoke cruises, each song with it's own Navy, every tone in sync with S.O.S. codes we break barriers and bob as bouys with a pulse time counts as social Beacons, Bandwidths and Light House lifts shifting with Lunar Tides filling our Soul Pools as our individual identity revels in the schools of swimming personalities we are capable of Ripping, playing and covering even when we rely on recognizing it when it"s forgotten in a hum reminding every word learned surfing for tasty treats of ear candy pleasure melts onto your tongue singing it in the shower off key happily following each verse without question to the meaning layers will covey in the same words that have been said before that had no ripple effect crashing Rogue Wave feelings sink in single strung together lines our minds don't battle exhausted dog paddling frantically until we develop our plunge kicking stroke. I'm grateful for SoundCloud providing the platform that has allowed me to press on  as I develop my style and structure. A switch from Analog to Digital Recording in the past two years led to alternative Genre changes catered to the Industry, which currently Hip Hop & Electronica Reign. Recording Studio. BZ Bees buzzing badass beats built with the brick by brick bridge building method fuels the fire I explore burning both ends as the Candle. lit to get a Hit someday. Comedy boosts my need to be a Blonde Rapper, RnB is a Ribbed Raincoat under the Hip Hop umbrella salting Game some fowl mouth Fools have pushed too far disrespecting women. Every day I rehearse, revise and write new material. I'm obsessed. Partially possessed with Pop Star passion and Porn Star conviction to know my Flow well admitting that I too am a foul mouthed pushy Gangster disrespecting women in some of my Rap. I don't need a gimmick. I have enough content to rely on and no fear of running out of ideas in this race that makes Hip Pop seem more realistic than thinking a Tucson Arizona based White Girl is going to get recognition for the HipHoptress I am becoming slaving for the success while learning all sides it takes to produce the show and sell the shirts that makes the Hit hit. I received better responses collaborating with the various great Artists that support Common Copy Write Laws opening doors wide so  multi-facets of the jewels I have polished extracting the elements with unconditional staunch faith that God guides me through as a vessel that's meant to do this as purposefully as I already do. It is not an occupation hazard to list long leads to success in any Profession taking pleasure in even the less prioritized possibilities.

The Hidden Notes 

When a musician plays a note of a certain pitch, the musical instrument resonates, producing a complex pattern of sound waves made up of many different frequencies. The most noticeable sound wave is called the fundamental, but there are other waves with higher frequencies, called harmonics. These are the hidden notes.

John Martin has spent the last 4 years coaxing these rather shy and often badly behaved notes out from their hiding places. Through the use of special fingerings and blowing techniques it is possible to produce several notes simultaneously, extending the sound world of the saxophone from a monophonic to a polyphonic instrument. Martin's focus is on incorporating these polyphonic sounds into tonal music.

Circular breathing then allows for the development of continuous rhythmic patterns, opening up many new exciting rhythmic and textural possibilities.

A BAND OF ORCS are the leaders of The Domination.
Oog, Cretos, Hulg, Gronk!, and Gogog are a band of Orcs from Hirntodia, a dimension that quickly grew too small to contain them. They came to the Earth realm through a game of Dungeons & Dragons played by a group of Human children, who are now dead. The Dungeon Master’s older brother, Jed, saved his own life by offering to teach the Orcs to play guitar. SLAYER‘s “Reign in Blood” play in the background of Jed’s room and eased the rage of the beasts, they found that Metal was something suitable for A BAND OF ORCS to master and use as a method of recruitment to dominate Earth.
So it began.


Greetings Humans,

Allow me to introduce myself. They call me Gruesom Grimp. I am the Chaos Pundit and Manager for A Band of Orcs. If you have not yet heard of A Band of Orcs, methinks that is due to the fact that their meteoric rise has not quite yet exploded into your consciousness. Allow me to remedy this.

I would like to offer you the opportunity to ally yourselves with A Band of Orcs, so that when they usher in the Domination you and yours will be spared. All the rest of puny humanity will perish in fire, blood and oh! so much metal. Wouldn’t you prefer to ride the wave of sonic destruction to superstardom with them, rather than get trampled into the dirt of prosaic human history?

A Short History of the Impending Domination:

Ø In December of 2006, a group of young nerds playing Dungeons & Dragons inadvertently summoned the monstrous oRcs into your realm by rolling dice on a “Random Encounter Table.” Unfortunately for them, they encountered A Band of Orcs, who reacted with all of the inappropriate violence that you might expect from such savage warriors. The oRc’s world changed forever, though, when they heard the demonic sounds of Slayer coming from downstairs. Enchanted with this new form of noise they forced the amateur guitarist they unearthed there to teach them how they could generate such sounds. They spared his life, and he gave them the materials they needed to make metal into magic.

Ø The band spent a few months learning how to play guitar, bass and drums. During this brutal time the rhythm guitarist Hulg ElfR.I.Per experienced a most (un)fortunate electrocution, in a battle over chords fought with lead guitarist Cretos Filthgrinder. Hulg has since been reanimated into an oRc zombie Master of Crushing Rhythms. So it goes.

Ø Studio sorcery began in May 2007, when A Band of Orcs converted and liaised with metal music veterans producer Scott Sargeant and engineer Juan Urteaga to cut their debut EP “WarChiefs of the Apocalypse.” Nary a more savage piece of sorcery-laden death metal has your world ever seen!

Ø On November 23, 2007, heavy metal legend and Iron Maiden front-man Bruce Dickinson played the track “Bring Out Your Dead” on The Bruce Dickinson Rock Show broadcasted on the BBC. Bruce knows brutally fantastic music when he hears it! A Band of Orcs had no label representation, nor were they yet civilized enough to play a single show, but Bruce knew he’d found something transdimensional.

Since then, I, in my role as Chaos Manager, have spent many hours training the oRcs out of their belief that flash photography was a sorcerer’s lightning bolt attack. A few unfortunate photographers’ heads had already rolled beneath the oRcs’ axes, and it was obvious that behavior modification exercises were called for. By 2008, the oRcs were ready for limited interaction with you puny humans.

Ø In May of 2008, another magical opportunity arose. Hollywood producer Courtney Gains (best known as an actor for his role as Malachi in “Children of the Corn” and most recently as Lloyd on the hit show “My Name is Earl”) assembled a fantastic film crew to create the oRcs’ first video, “Into the Maelstrom.” Extremely talented, up-and-coming maestro Jess Bryden stood at the director’s helm, resulting in a CGI extravaganza that set even some ILM animators’ mouths watering (according to the rumors in the aether).

Ø November 2008: Fuse TV chose the “Into the Maelstrom” video to help launch their On-Demand service in November of 2008. Fuse-TV aired it all throughout November -in HD-so you lowly humans could behold the oRcs in all their heavy metal ferocity.

Ø By October (oRctober, as we like to say in oRc ToweR) 2008, A Band of Orcs had been sufficiently domesticated to appear before their human devotees (who are legion). They appeared before the adoring masses on October 18, 2008, with the ballsy Bay Area hardcore legends ArnoCorps. This, their first musical raid on human ear-drums, was followed shortly thereafter by another assault with deathly metal: on October 27, A Band of Orcs performed in San Francisco with metal icons Master.

Ø On January 10th, 2009, A Band of Orcs headlined their first show in Santa Cruz to a ravenous crowd of hometown headbangers, who simply do not get enough metal in these parts. They screamed, head-banged, and moshed in cathartic rage, while their heroes A Band of Orcs administered the metal beatings. Four days later, on January 14th, the oRcs took the stage with metal warriors 3 Inches of Blood in the Santa Cruz Catalyst Atrium to a crowd that sold out a mere 5 minutes after the savages began to beat the war-drums. The club had to turn away droves of additional crest-fallen metal-heads and others who desired to be enslaved by the Domination. The harbingers of interdimensional metal, A Band of Orcs, have arrived.

Ø In March of 2009, A Band of Orcs proudly accepted the endorsement of Jackson Guitars. Artist Relations Manager Chris Cannella had this to say about A Band of Orcs: “I first put in the video only to be taken back by the high level of production and quality of the video. Just amazing. I then waited for the track to begin and in all honesty most bands use theatrics to cover up lack of talent. This is NOT the case here. I am currently listening to CD now and have to say this is pretty bad*ss stuff. I would love to work with you.”

A Band of Orcs want nothing less than to become Metal Gods in your puny human realm. As such they crave praise and glory on the road. We would be honored for the opportunity to assault your puny human ear-drums to secure apotheosis for A Band of Orcs as deities in the Metalverse.
