I like the dark harshness of the night and ethereal lightness of the somnambulist's moods, WDG, anyway that is how I visualized it while listening.

Haunting stories to accompany these latest pieces. Haha. I've honestly never experienced that, but I can imagine it's quite unnerving. The music fits the tense mood very nicely. :)

I like those vocal descents. Feels like we're slipping down into madness.

Playing this again, I realised I'd mastered a lot of detail out of this so, here is my attempt at a remaster. Hope you like it! December 2023. 

As a child, the night was full of mystery. My twin sister was a somnambulist, and I too was known to walk if I had a fever. Looking into the face of a sleepwalker is quite disturbing - it's the open but dead eyes, no hint of recognition; it used to make the hair stand up on my neck. 
The cover is a detail from a painting by the innovative French painter, Gustave Courbet. I think it's fair to say he nailed that look.

The Somnambulist (Remaster)

I've been on Soundcloud for six years now and it's been great exploring the work of other artists.  There is so much generosity of spirit on this platform, it's just what you need when most of your music is made solo. 

I started out playing classical and Spanish guitar, then took up flamenco to ease myself away from the confines of musical notation. As a result, Latin rhythms often creep into my music. 

A friend introduced me to steel string and electric guitars just a few years ago and I still find the scope they bring dizzying... but what fun!
