Why is that guy Maverick walking through townships, in the heat, day after day with a monkey on his back?
A bit of story telling. Velvet Underground meets Modern Lovers meets Zambia. The middle part is inspired by southern Zambia gospel choirs. The outro resembles a lousy Kalindula band, you can find in bars and pubs in hot & sweaty Livingstone.
With respect to the Zambian people - a fantastic country - I hope a little bit of the Bemba part is pronounced well enough, I did practice...

Maverick (with a monkey on his back)

On this occasion I have made a track between Dub and House which makes a great contrast between their parts. With an afro percussion and his cinematic moment with a clear tribute to my admired Hans Zimmer with a cathedral organ like in his Interstellar OST. I have also carried out a new technique to create the hook sound. The addition of reverbs and distortion creates metallic resonances that accompany the deepest phrases. A better ending could be added but I wanted to make the track as short as possible, I left it in the hands of the deejays with their mixes. Greetings..
