Accrochées au vide, elles tiennent encore,  
dans le vent qui coupe les falaises.  
Quéribus, Peyrepertuse, Aguilar…  
des noms qu’on dit comme une prière,  
des pierres qui ne lâchent pas.  

On disait châteaux cathares,  
ça sonnait comme une légende,  
comme des voix brûlées dans la nuit.  
Aujourd’hui ce sont forteresses royales,  
mais les murs s’en fichent,  
ils gardent la même mémoire.  


La tramontane tord les vignes,  
ça cogne sec, ça gifle les toits.  
Là-haut les remparts regardent, muets,  
ils savent ce que nous, on oublie.  


On disait châteaux cathares,  
comme si le nom suffisait.  
Aujourd’hui ce sont forteresses royales,  
le souffle reste le même,  
c’est le vertige qui parle.  


J’ai grandi dans cette poussière,  
dans ces collines qui s’accrochent au ciel.  
Peu importe le nom,  
ces pierres tiennent encore debout,  
elles savent d’où on vient.  

Châteaux cathares, forteresses royales…  
les mots changent,  
le vent non.  
Et l’Aude continue de chanter  
dans la bouche de ses murailles.
