Tucson, Arizona's CRIMEKILLZ had an all too-brief history. Forming in 2008, singer N8NOFACE & producer Scumbag Tony released two blistering synth punk EPs in 2010 ("Kills Kids") & 2011 ("Never Dies"), plus a great (delayed & generally unheard) album "Destroy Stress" in 2013.  A split 7" with N8's blood brother Zackey Force Funk, then one more self-released mini-album that year ("Slauson EP") and they were gone.

N8NOFACE created the sophomore album to his 2014 debut demo compilation "The Dolo Tape", with a newly crafted collection entitled "Stories Of Those" [HNR69]. Stories that are not commonly told are the stories of those. Fourteen minimal wave post-punk tales from inside, creep onto ill-lit streets and recede into a looming electronic shadow.

 
Our co-sign starts off by familiarizing us with his methods, only to report "The scene is dead... the scene is soft... the scene's not real" on lead banger 'Trucha' (with accompanying music video & collectible flexidisc [HNR70).  Paying fitting tribute to the author's narco-torius former hometown with the track 'Drugstore', and with pledged devotion just wants the kids to know 'It All Goes Away' (the second single & video).  Spectral Gonjasufi halfway-materializes from the aether, blessing some enduringly haunting bars on 'Hello God', however disappears just as fast, with the narrator taking exit close behind. In less than thirty minutes the album ends, though with as much as you were just told, explicit details remain dark and for the life of you cannot recall actually seeing a face...


"Stories Of Those" is released on MAY 8, 2017 with the first pressing of 300qty limited-edition White or Bloodstain 12" vinyl records (each housed in a screenprinted monochrome cardboard jacket), compact cassette tapes, 7" flexi-discs (with the non-album B-side 'Full Clip'), plus special bundles with collectible handmade zines, buttons, stickers & more.

Fresh off the Spring release of his stunning fourteen-song debut album "Stories Of Those' [HNR69], plus "Demos And Demons" [HNR81] the ten track collection of demos recorded between 2015-2016, this is the third release from producer / singer N8NOFACE in 2017, as well as a preview of his forthcoming 2018 album "True Story" [HNR90] due out next Spring.

Twenty-two highly limited-edition one-sided 7" collectible lathe cuts for the new N8NOFACE double A-side single "Say Goodbye / IDGAF". These previously unreleased tracks were cut in MONO on a round, clear polycarbonate disc in real time on a PRESTO 6N vintage lathe in Tucson, while the opposite side was screenprinted in black ink by HIT+RUN in downtown Los Angeles. Each lathe comes housed in a stamped white paper sleeve, inside a screenprinted monochrome glossy white outer jacket. Item arrives in a protective plastic sleeve, plus all orders receive a N8NOFACE "Demos And Demons" [HNR81] compact disc (featuring ten demos recorded from 2015-2016). Strict Edition of 22qty.

Conceived in Athens, Greece, The Blue Square is the duo of Radim (Vasilis Sourais) and Radical (Christos Volotas) who have come together with a love of noir atmospheres, old spy films, and dusted, jazzy beats. Since their beginnings in 2010, The Blue Square have been making waves with their explorations into instrumental hip hop, nu-jazz, and trip hop, and earned slots DJ’ing alongside Wax Tailor, ASM - A State Of Mind, Bonobo, and Gramatik. Paul Cheeba of Morcheeba is also a fan, premiering a track by The Blue Square on the widely listened to Trip Hop Nation podcast. 

The pair’s self-titled debut album – and their first release on vinyl – has been issued by Greek label Melting Records and delivers heaps of cinematic vibes and crucial rhythms. The Blue Square have expressed a desire to create ‘soundtracks for imaginary films’ and their album certainly fits the bill. “Believe’, the opening cut, quickly sets the tone with a heavy lounge feel wrapped in vibraphone melodies, saxophone riffs, and classic beats. “Tic Toc” mashes together a number of styles and sounds, featuring desert guitars, vintage keys, and hip hop vocal drops over some seriously dope drums. “Mama”, with vocalist Esterina, showcases the diversity of the crew, as it’s a deliciously jazzy vocal number that transports the listener to a nostalgic club scene while firmly rooted in its contemporary base. 

These are just a few highlights from the eleven track album, and the different moods and sounds provide an infectious ‘sonic film’ from The Blue Square’s imagination. Dive in and drift away.
