From rock to blues to jazz to metal to punk, goth and alternative as influences, Lock has thrown all genre rules out the window. The band refuses to be held to just one sound. Driven by the rhythm section of Vic Jones (drums) and Lloyd Ellis (bass), they bring a heavy and groove oriented sound informed equally by Bay Area punk and metal. Doug Traser (guitar) provides atmosphere ranging from metal, blues and jazz, adding textures both heavy and layered. Michael Kelly Larsen (vocals) works in a strong, full vocal that is equally at home with metal and alt-rock, showing his love for multiple musical cultures, and weaving them into the mix with words that aim to be both lyrical and meaningful.

The pulsing and hypnotic groove of “Circles” provides a full bodied introduction to Lock’s heartbeat, with the topical and impassioned punch and drive of “Love and Hate” showcasing lyrical content that makes you want to sing but also makes you want to think. The jazzy and eclectic “American Dream” transitions into a full frontal mix with all cylinders firing. All three songs are good examples of the unique blend of sound that Lock brings to the table.
