And now for something completely different. I woke up yesterday morning with a mashup of Dagny's "Wearing Nothing" and Younger's "Out of my System" singing in my head. Since I'm (supposed to be) on vacation, I thought - why not! Amazing what you can do these days, using ONLY two mp3s as raw material! I separated stems using RX 8 and remixed it in Studio One. Removed some harshness using Soothe and mastered it with Ozone 9. Probably 15 hours of work, since it was my first project in Studio One - using only headphones. :D But I had a blast. Probably the first time I did something - completely out of my comfort zone music-wise just for the kicks of it - in many years.

Undefeated Eyes

Wentworth Woodhouse is a grand stately home in South Yorkshire. On a visit with my wife and two friends, as we explored the grounds, in a wooded area we found a large woodblock xylophone. In the pouring rain, on a simple mobile phone, we sampled the sounds of the blocks. These samples, used here, along with the majestic building and a rather out of tune piano I discovered inside, which I was able to play, inspired the music.

The Chase (Strings, Brass, Rhythm)

Just a bit of fun created on a national holiday afternoon. Created only using Spitfire Audio "Abbey Road" sounds in Ableton Live. Sounds as standard, just switched articulations, and it was all produced on a very modestly specified laptop.

It's a John Williams-like piece - but it's hard not to with the Spitfire Abbey Road sounds... any similarities, sorry, but it's totally out of respect!
