Beneath every observable behavior lies a complex system of signals traveling from one corner of the brain to another, often influenced by an imperceptible subconscious that materializes into perfectly observable and actionable actions: dancing at 140 BPM in a pulsating club, rolling eyes in frustration, perspiring under the hypnotic strobe lights... and this amalgamation of responses is what we know as “Overt Behavior”.

In this remarkable debut EP, the producer and psychology enthusiast, Cosmic Anomaly, grants us a captivating glimpse into the inner workings of his mind. The EP is an incredibly original creation, produced entirely with modular synthesizers, showcasing an exquisite mastery of technique that serves as an ideal launching pad for his discography.

User Experience welcomes young German and living meme, Nils Viktor Voss, or Corroid as the world will know him from now on. Corroid sent me a track a while back for mastering.. an absolute face melter. I asked him via the medium of dance if he had any more tracks. Now I cannot get rid of him, he sends stuff all the time, if it’s not music it’s memes. The only way I am able to deactivate the meme machine is to try and divert his attention elsewhere. So, find him on facebook, meme him until he is unable to function.

Joining Corroid on this record are two fucking amazing artists who I admire a great deal; Myler and Jasmine Azarian who both execute their remixes with precise brutality.

This is an unusual record as the manufacturing won’t start until the kickstarter has reached 120 pre orders. If the world is truly evil and we don’t get enough pre orders the EP will come out as digital only.

As for the track names I considered translating for the ignorant English (myself included) then I heard Corroid’s flatmate say.. ‘YOU CANNOT TRANSLATE THEM, THIS IS TRUE ART’. Well thats bollocks but tbh I don’t have time for translations.

‘Rise And Shine’, the first full Ostgut Ton solo release by Substance (aka @Peter-Kuschnereit), sees him fusing his deep, industrial aesthetic with the resonant bass-heavy leanings of his alter ego DJ Pete, as evidenced on the title track’s off-kilter metallic riddims and multiple, interlaced SH-101 and Prophet 5 melodies. From there, potential set-closer “Countdown” blasts off with relentlessly rattling, scraping breaks, hissing German vox and big chords. The compact explorations of “Bird Cave” and “Distance” offer a more atmospheric take on bass and rhythm, while EP closer “Cruising” re-explores the uncanny, Berlin deep techno cosmos Kuschnereit has helped define, this time in denser form.
