The massive oscillating basslines, the intricately constructed extraterrestrial atmospheres, and the utterly dumbfounding drum patterns that weave betwixt growling glitch. The compositions almost literally speak for themselves, and truly have a mind of their own. This expressively psychedelic monstrosity of sound is a seminal piece for Berkeley, California’s Ben Wyss, known to the interplanetary creatures that fall victim to vibrations as Sixis. It’s been almost three years since the producer has released a full project, and the dedication and devotion that was poured into releasing this one is instantly evident.

“Refraction Point” is critical mass for Sixis. This is a journey through the cerebral caverns of a producer’s mind who is only just beginning to make his mark on music. The extensively thought-provoking ingenuity of each track and the outright dynamism and ebullience that drives each song to its conclusion is almost staggering. This EP from start to finish is a cosmic catastrophe, and that is meant in the most positive way possible.

With a career spanning 14 years, Jake Fairley aka @fairmont, the Canadian skateboard kid turned DJ is the latest artist to add his name to the EDWIN line-up.

His live sets have evolved over the years and now consist of an ever-expanding live arsenal of three analogue synthesizers, two drum machines, his trusty sampler and a slew of other toys (Note: No Laptop!) resulting in a simultaneous stage show and killer dance-floor set.

Six raw, synthesizer filled, mind tangling tracks by Duyster, a debuting duo from Scheveningen (The Hague) The Netherlands. Their journey began with "Ranzig". This recording of raw basslines, crazy syntheziser sounds with chopped up drumloops was recorded back in 2010.  This is the point where this mysterious duo start working together. And as you can clearly hear in "ranzig" they already had quite a rave history behind them. One year later this duo decided to spend a nice summer day in nature... away from people, cities, robots...etc. This magical experience led them to build this very pure form of sound which they called "Zaakje", almost just as pure as their day in "Meiendel" a beautiful spot in the dunes close to Scheveningen. They had to cross some borders and rules to get there... but hÈ... rules are there to be broken aren't they?  The rest of the tracks were all influenced by this experience. Last year we've contacted some of our favourite upcoming artists from around the world and asked them to make interpretations of some of the tracks on Duyster's album, 'Esoteric Yield'.

After a couple of weeks remixes started coming in that completely took us by surprise. It seemed all tracks had been made with a strong sense of freedom of speech, which is exactly what we'd been hoping for and exactly the thing we're promoting.
Expect some mind altering psychedelic electronica, sometimes guided by traditional instruments (three remixes mysteriously showed up having guitars in them). There's also a new Duyster track added as a bonus.

Cold wave, minimal techno, electro abstract, avant- hard, hardcore techno, break core, IDM, EBM, Death Rock, punk Rock, New Wave,Dark Wave, Ambient, MiamiBootyBase, SpeedBase, Dub, RagaMuffin, Dubstep, Industrial, Noise, Experimental, world beat...did I forget anything?  Neophyte, for sure, and these are all my newly found treasures, that I have dug up from around the world.  One day I will produce some tracks again, until then, I will spend every minute listening to all the newly found gems!
