Featured here are fourteen artists from around the world, each pioneering a unique and individual sound, yet all treading a common path into peripheral, at times wonky, leftfield territory: from new age ambient to krautrock-injected synth-pop, from downtempo tropical house to jazz-infused techno adventures. Showcasing new and upcoming acts as well as artists who've previously appeared on respected labels such as Beats In Space, DC Recordings, Tummy Touch, Emotional Response, Hoga Nord, Lectric Sands, Luminous Recordings, Madwaltz, Psychic Malmo, Memphis Industries, 360 Degrees, Cocktail D'Amore, Horn Wax, Lugnet and cult "library" label Bruton we're very pleased to be able to add these people to our own roster and bring this long-awaited compilation to you. Invisible Family Vol.II is finally here and features tracks from Apiento (remixed by Secret Circuit), Gazeebo, Konzel, Der Kundalini, Natural Sugars, Tim Love Lee & Angela Chambers, Spacerocks, Bal5000 and more.

Two and half years on from Vol. I and the long-awaited second part of the Invisible Family compilations has arrived. The wait was worth it.

There will be a 5-track compilation 12" limited to 300 copies plus an even more limited 'companion' cassette (50 copies) complete with downloads.

Label boss and compiler GK Machine has this to say about the 12":

"Beyond pleased to get these tracks out.

The Gazeebo track I've been playing in my sets for years. Sure, digital files are all fair and well but this is so great it DEFINITELY needed to get pressed onto wax!! I would DJ with it using Ableton, and speed it up quite a lot so for the vinyl I asked Jon (Nedza) (who I've been a huge fan of since his Community Recordings releases on Grayhound and Imperial Dub), whether he could speed it up a little bit before we pressed it up. Now it's 100% perfect: a Moroder-esque cosmic synth stomper that's sure to set any dancefloor alight.

The Secret Circuit remix of the Apiento track is another one that's been gestating for a long time...first appearing around the time the original E.S.P. 12" appeared on the wonderful Golf Channel Recordings. Eddie (Secret Circuit) gave it a complete overhaul, in fact several complete overhauls, added some of his signature guitar and has turned an already blissful track into an afro-tinged, trippy, beautiful, beautiful piece of music that IMO is one of his best yet. Utterly gorgeous!! 

Then there's Tropical Jeremy and Angela Moore's retro-future duo Der Kundalini coming from the wonderful Lectric Sands stable in NY who also gave us Zoovox and Out 2. This one's also been hiding on my harddrive way too long! Until now!

Finally relative newcomers Konzel (of Junto Club/Optimo Music fame) & Natural Sugars (Pardon My French) round off the package just perfectly. The former recorded and engineered by Sordid Sound System at Green Door Studio and so distinct sounding that I felt it was a perfect opener for the EP.....so....5 great tracks... I hope you love the music as much as I do....also keep an eye out for the super limited 12-track 'companion' cassette featuring these 5 tracks plus music from Tim Love Lee & Angela Chambers, SPACEROCKS, Fred Und Luna and more!!!”

Having recently relocated to the remote redwood forests of Northern California in order to set up a satellite mixing studio for his old stomping ground, Glasgow’s Green Door Studio, Sordid Sound System returns to Invisible Inc with 4 cuts of Psychedelic Dungeon Disco.

The EP opens with his most blissed out track to date ‘Die Ewige Nacht’, an eight and a half minute inverted sun ritual based around shimmering cascades of dubbed up electronic percussion and an overdriven tintinnabulated FM arp.

Hi-NRG meets 80s B-Boy electro on ‘Crescent City’ with a careering off-road excursion into tripped out mutant carnival cavalcade territory.

Dia De Muertos’s offbeat eerie percussion and driving low frequencies are met with spectral buzzing melodic refrains from the furthermost reaches of a decaying Oaxacan cemetery.

The acid drenched ambient lullaby ‘You & Me’ brings proceedings to a fittingly fucked up close.

Patricia Kokett’s sound is shrouded in a veil of mysticism. The brainchild of Lithuanian Gediminas Jakubka, Diabel’s metallic heartbeat underlies a magical superstructure that evokes some kind of DMT infused trip. Or possibly even some kind of ancient ritual, where one is intoxicated by serpents blood. Guided by repetitive drum patterns, it creates a slow joint dance that opens the path towards transcendence.

Marking the 20th release on Invisible, Inc. is this special limited edition double-vinyl gatefold compilation featuring tracks from some of the most highly respected musicians of the last five decades.

The astonishingly diverse palette of styles comes courtesy of renowned ambient innnovator Laraaji, multi-Grammy Award-winning producer and ground-breaking synthesist and sound engineer Malcolm Cecil (in his Tonto's Expanding Head Band guise), Italian 'Cosmic Disco' pioneer and DJ Daniele Baldelli, avantgarde experimentalist K. Leimer, New York electro synth-pop legend Richard Bone (all five of whom have been active since the '70s or earlier) as well as dub techno locked groove aficionados log(m), West Coast psychedelic electronics maestro Secret Circuit, Berlin-based synthesist/composer Eva Geist plus a veritable "who's who" of some of the finest producers of ambient, dub, downtempo, leftfield and experimental electronica ever collected together on a single piece of wax (or two in this case): Baikonour, Sordid Sound System, Causa, Ulysses, Epsilove, Luv*Jam, Higamos Hogamos, Randweg, Bronze Savage, Komodo Kolektif, Bal5000 and Natural Sugars.


Eliciting a distinct sense of musical other-worldlyness, the title is perhaps more than just a nod to Philip K Dick's "Blade Runner" and hints at the idea that if these transmissions 'from beyond' are 'lost' they may in essence be more rooted in our distant past than in some science fiction future.


Putting needle to record, ancient rhythms and hypnotic mantras merge with synthesized soundscapes and deep basslines to propel us upward from the primeval forest floor into steady orbit before engaging the hyperspace drive on a trajectory deep into the Great Mystery. 

Mini bios:

Malcolm Cecil is perhaps the most well known of the 20 artists represented. Born in 1937 he became a respected jazz bassist and session musician before focussing on audio engineering and synthesis and later going on to produce several of Stevie Wonder's Grammy Award-winning albums of the early '70s. Meanwhile he was pursuing the Tonto's Expanding Head Band project with Robert Margouleff. The track featured here, 'Bittersweet' is an example of the 'synthetic funk' created during that period in the '70s and has never before been released on vinyl. Laraaji first came to wider attention when Brian Eno released his "Day Of Radiance" album as part 3 of his Ambient Series. Specializing in hammered dulcimer, zither and mbira, Laraaji is possibly the least 'electronic' of the artists featured here but, on having received the tripped-out dub treatment of Canadian producers log(m), 'Sunken Forest' is surely one of the most captivating and unique tracks on this compilation.

K. Leimer is another pioneering producer active since the mid '70s. Leimer founded Palace of Lights in 1979. His early work has recently been reissued by Autumn and RVNG, and his early cassette work is in the critically acclaimed Vinyl-On-Demand box set American Cassette Culture. His current catalogue includes seventeen albums and many more collaboratve albums and singles.

Also active since the '70s, Richard Bone is a respected artist whose "Vaulted Visions: Filmworks, Synth Pop, Demos & Experiments 1978-83" retrospective was yet another release that recently saw the light of day (again on Vinyl-On-Demand). He was one of the founders of the New York electronic music scene and formed cult act Shox Lumania in 1981. Here he gets the remix treatment from another veteran pioneer of another style entirely - that of renonwned cosmic 'afro' DJ, Daniele Baldelli (also active since the '70s) assisted by his long-term collaborator Marco Dionigi.

Cape Perpetua is a thing of beauty.

Sordid Sound System has taken his unique, raw, dub-infused sonic vision to a new level. With 'Cape Perpetua' we travel dem spaceways to a place that seems to grow more beautiful by the second; a textured, melodic, blissful interplanetary landscape where further words fail. From here Sascha Funke manages to take the controls and steer the mission on a futuristic space odyssey that's as urgent as it is blissful. Faint background signals of the original remain but are violently ejected from the airlock by the most synthetic, syncopated sounds the human ear has ever been exposed to. Flip over and we're straight into 'It's About Time'. This one is equally high octane ..... but this time of the afro-tinted psychedelic surf punk variety. If you aren't dancing to this you're probably dead. No rest for the wicked, however....because before we manage to get our precise bearings and a firm grasp of what just happened the acid techno space rock of 'Pneumonia Gulch' kicks in and takes us to places Hawkwind could only have dreamed of. Respite soon follows when the seductive voice of Eva Geist transports us to yet another beautiful paradise. Slowly it dawns on us that we're now in a dimension elsewhere entirely. Mind boggling. Nothing comes close. If you were to take a cockatil of mandrake, opium, LSD, ecstasy and a variety of amphetamines in the company of the heavenly host, the cosmic machine elves and a group of your best human friends with access to every instrument you ever wanted you would only know the half of it. This takes a very twisted, talented, mystic mind to come up with. I'm sure of it.

Let's open the doors to a whole new world.

A new world where the bastard love child of Tangerine Dream, Hardfloor, Sun Ra and The Gun Club rules supreme.
