atöm. mix series 01: JKS

I am glad to finally share this new vinyl with you all, coming from my deeper emotional side.

This is a tribute & was made during a place of sadness & grief for two amazing humans we lost last years, Rob Maguire on 18 december 2023 & Léa-Rose Besson aka Radical Softness on 14 February 2024.

They were the most unconditonnal loving persons I ever met, sharing love, breathing love, teaching us so much about being better everydays, leaving us as their mission on Earth were completed.

Still, the ones who stay, stand still. With only our memories to remember their souls, being infused by their aura of life forever. Its from those people when you feel instantly good around, making you feel confortable, loving yourself more, accepting yourself & being vulnerable while powerful.

From all over the world and especially in Berlin, many of us where impacted so much by their kindness and souls, offering us a space to be heard & seen, when so many of us couldn't. We all know that it was such a priviledge to knew them & shared wisdom with and timeless experiences, being kids around old souls, teaching us how to love beyond time & space.

Its from this place that most of the tracks of this EP were created, fighting for resilience through dark times. I felt the need to make them this tribute while healing from pain to find love in myself and others. Being grateful for everything that happens in life even if it never last.

Gaman, from the japanese means, perseverance. That illustrate never giving up on ourselves, our dreams, our life, keep shining one day after the other, because being alive is the most unique priviledge we will ever have.

While everything is temporary, music still belong, making them heard a little bit longer through vibrations.

My dear Rob, my dear Lea, may you rest in peace, may we see us again in another realm. We love you.

Sounds From NoWhere is pleased to premiere a new Marteka Fair' track remixed by JAK on 'Vast Recordings'.

As rich sonically as it is in social commentary, Marteka Fair’s latest techno EP is a perfect fit for the budding discography of VAST.

Marteka Fair is from North Carolina, and the American DJ and producer is a key part of the local scene co-creating Liminal Space, a live concert series with visual artist Fluxxss that merges sound and image into a shared, sensory environment. 
She has not only appeared on club and festival line-ups alongside Rrose, Rødhåd, DVS1, and Bloody Mary, but also lists releases on Berlin’s W133, Infra, and Maison Fauna, while being behind the A&R for VAST’s releases.

The Life After Internet EP consists of four tracks along with remixes by Bekkler and JAK. 
It draws inspiration from a time when the information revolution lay at our fingertips, promising what seemed at the time like a utopian frontier of human connection.


Rounding out the original singles appearing on the tracklist of the EP is “Frisson.” 
While markedly more melodic than the music preceding it, its arrangement meanders in a way that might sound random to the untrained ear. 
JAK expanded upon this complex emotional palette in his remix, spinning it into the lore of an exhilarating story.
