After presenting the acclaimed special reissue of 'A Midsummer Nice Dream" in 2019, today Christopher Scott Leary aka @ochre returns to Lapsus' Perennial Series with 'Lemodie (15th Anniversary Edition)'.

2021 marks 15 years since the original release of 'Lemodie' on Scottish label Benbecula in 2006, and to celebrate the release’s fifteenth anniversary Lapsus Records is pressing a special collector’s edition of this IDM classic for the first time on vinyl.

'Lemodie (15th Anniversary Edition)' includes a double marbled vinyl, a full-colour print and a brand new artwork redesigned by Portland (Oregon) illustrator Nathaniel Reeves, who has worked alongside Ochre over the last decade. In addition, this special reissue also features six previously unreleased tracks from the 'Lemodie' era –four bonus on its vinyl version and six on its digital version–.

Recorded beginning at 5:20am on 2020/04/25 at Corinne Jones Park (30.4082176, -87.2231345) using Zoom H2 (24/48) with MikroUsi pair taped to the fence surrounding the pond. In this unedited recording you'll hear frogs, crickets, and the sunrise chorus, along with the hum of the city, traffic, folks on their morning walks, the 6am bells chiming, and ending with fountains in the pond turning on.

While recording the dawn chorus at Bayview Park on Sunday, May 3, 2020, I noticed bats circling in the clearing between the trees near where I was standing. Their sounds being ultrasonic I didn't hear them of course, but upon dropping the recording into Izotope RX and observing the spectrogram, I noticed lots of activity above 30khz that corresponded to the time in which I saw the bats. I pitched the recording down a few octaves, and filtered out the lower frequencies to isolate the bats as much as possible. Everything you are hearing is usually well above the range of human hearing. I'll post the complete unprocessed dawn chorus soon, but this was too exciting of a discovery to wait.
