Biography

IndySoul: Deep House Producer | Composer is a Montreal based artist whose reputation for quality releases and remixes is one of new reference from within the House Music Community.  

In 1985, Carl’s first involvement in music was as a bass guitar player with local Montreal Band “New Dawn Fades”. From the post-punk enigmatic Joy Division Unknown Pleasure album, the band was rocking the Underground scene with their own unique style replicating the 80’s alternatives hits. Rehearsing at a warehouse in the west side of Montreal, the band mainly played gigs at local parties and at infamous Montreal “Grand Café” on St-Denis Street.  
IndySoul is known for his quality releases. His early 2011 release on Chic Shine Records “The Story of Esperanza” was among Beatport.com Deep House Top 100 for several weeks in a row. December 2011 was the release of IndySoul - My Life Ep on Starsrain Records out of which Salvation did extremely well and dropped by many Dj's around the globe; many accolades were received for this achievement. 
Another Ep that reached the top 20 Soulful House on Traxsource was his release called “I’m Done” with Singer/Songwriter/Performer/ Wayne Tennant on legendary Gene King’s label “Shines Records”.   Outstanding reviews from Alan Pooley, Brazilian Soul Crew, Fused Records, Master Kev, Pablo Martinez, Rork, Tommy Valenzuela on Drifting In Time Ep released in 2013 after the passing of his father; this Ep was a tribute to him. 
Drifting In Time Part II was released in the fall of 2013 again as a tribute after the passing of his mother. The Ep included remixes from Gene King, Luka & Cavemen with newer & fresh perspectives. The Spoken Words not only composed and produced by IndySoul but also two new versions by IndySoul himself with the Together Main Mix & Singularity Mix; the Cavemen Immortality Remix was produced by Esan Ellis & IndySoul, the Gene King Remixes and the Deeper- level Rub rework done by Luka from WE GO DEEP Records Label Head brought the project to another level. 
IndySoul joined forces with Tantra-zawadi on a great release from Gotta Keep Faith Records called “We Are The Stars”; tag-team along with Brooklyn artist and vocalist Aleijuan Afuraka including remixes from: Deep’Y’All, Douglas Marques. Gene King, Underground Revival and Room 806..  
IndySoul also worked on a banging release featuring talented vocalist Darian Crouse called “Home” on Monocles & Slezz Ska-lla Records; IndySoul’s Atmospheric Mix was selected as “must play” by many Dj’s around the world and was made in honor of one of Indy’s inspiration Dj & Producer, Kerri Chandler.   
Indy’s dedication to music and respect of life inspired him on laying out a 4 track Ep called Deep Blue released on WE GO Deep Records. Four Tracks of pure quality, sound and mood perfect not only for the club consumption, also for day-to-day listening whether from headphones or in the car; in the same line, IndySoul is working on a 5 track Ep named Whalerider that will hit the stores at the end of 2014 or early 2015.
