Dj Private Ryan is one the Caribbeans most versatile and travelled djs. He also is the creator of the worldwide Soca dj festival called Soca Brainwash. His musical diversity has transcended into the world of production where he has created hits for Caribbean artistes such as KES, Freetown Collective, Teddyson John, Erphaan Alves, Sekon Sta and more.

Selector Iscious (pronounced “eye-shus”) was born in New Jersey to Portuguese-American parents. The name “Iscious” is a Rastafarian interpretation of the word “conscious.”  The negative “con” is replaced with the positive and affirming “I.”    The name reflects the style of reggae that Iscious is most well-known for- roots reggae and cultural dancehall. After re-locating to Boston with his family, Iscious began DJing with his cousin while in high school. The two DJs formed the Joyful Noise Sound System. The duos’ mix tape series “Ital Dancehall” was widely distributed and in high demand at the time.
Later, while enrolled at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina, Iscious got his start on the radio. For two years he ran a weekly roots reggae program on the College’s station that was popular with classmates and staff alike.  It was also in Charleston that Iscious got his first experience DJing in clubs. His weekly Reggae Night at Sermet’s Restaurant & Night Club in downtown Charleston was extremely successful during Iscious’ 2 year reign. 
During international study-abroad trips to West Africa and South America, Iscious also had the opportunity to further develop and share his DJing skills with a global audience.
After completing his degree and returning to Boston, Iscious formed the newly named Equalizer Sound with his cousin Livalect. It was not long before Iscious made his presence known in Boston’s Caribbean communities of Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan.  He co-hosted a weekly radio show named “The Lion’s Den” with Lady Lee, a very well-known artist and DJ in the Boston area. The two started out on Choice 102.9 FM, before moving on to Vibe 105.3 FM.  The Lion’s Den was Boston’s most listened-to roots and culture program for several years. Iscious went on to establish his own show, Fire Mondays, which was equally popular and successful. 
His listeners’ have compared Selector Iscious’ style to that of “a mix between David Rodigan and Mutabaruka.” With his vast knowledge of reggae music, Iscious is able to inject rich cultural and historical notes to supplement his selections.  For example, his radio tributes to legendary figures such as Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs and Peter Tosh typically ran for 3 hours and featured rare songs and interviews. Iscious has conducted radio interviews with many of reggae’s finest acts, including Jah Cure, I-Octane, Tarrus Riley, Richie Spice, Warrior King, Gappy Ranks, The Abyssinians, Israel Vibration, Everton Blender, Coco Tea, Chezidek, Little Hero, and others. 
Selector Iscious has extensive experience DJing at clubs (Charleston, Boston, New England & New York), private parties and weddings, and on the radio. He has also hosted several concerts in Boston and New England as an MC, most notably for Everton Blender, Chezidek, and Little Hero.  Iscious is also a selector and promoter for the Fiyah Bass Music Company, a diverse and talented crew of Boston-based artists with roots in Jamaica, Trinidad, Israel, Haiti and America.
