Kidnap is an artist whose music overflows with emotion - rich and powerfully evocative.

Recording in London, Kidnap (real name Matthew Relton) likens his process to that of a sculptor, starting with a block of sound and chopping away until a shape emerges. As such, each song exists ornately carved with a handcrafted subtly.

Still just 33, Relton is already something of an industry veteran. Releasing his first single in 2012 kicked off an eight-year stretch of global touring that came to a grinding halt when the pandemic put the world on pause.

2024 marks a new chapter for Kidnap, with his next body of work on the horizon. Set against the backdrop of a changing world and the arrival of a baby daughter, Relton offers a bittersweet reflection on the passing of time. ‘It’s about looking back on the last 12 years — the touring and the friends and the sleeplessness,” says Relton, “and realising that in order to embrace the life I have now, I need to let it all go.’ The music shimmers with nostalgia. Signature sad melodies dance deftly around commanding synth lines, altogether sounding like an artist with a new found sense of purpose.

Starting his journey in 2019 quickly growing his reputation doing house partys and his SoundCloud mixes reaching over 1 Million plays, Jay quickly found himself in high demand and getting himself into clubs such as, Plastik Ibiza, Tibu Marbella, The Button Factory, Tramline, Twenty Two, The Grand Social, The SoundHouse, The Botanic Inn Belfast & many more . Supporting acts such Eats Everything, Sam Divine, Route 94, Danny Howard, Robbie G, , Agnelli & Nelson,  & many more.  He also holds a residency in Escape Belfast.

Jay has over 8 Million plays on all platforms and is eager to get his name into the music industry currently working on his producing. 2022 is going to be a very big year for him with lots in the pipeline.

A classically trained singer with a passion for ethnic music and blues, Micu’s adventures in electronic music began on the sunny beaches of her homeland in Croatia, when the likes of Umek, Petar Dundov and Valentino Kanzyani first showed her the allure and beauty of techno.

Subsequent time spent living in Dublin and Ibiza deepened her love for the genre, exposing her to some of the finest artists and venues both locales had to offer, but it was only during a while she spent living and breathing the music scene in Berlin that she began to experiment on the other side of the decks. Soon she was playing the tracks she loved for others—and falling in love with them all over again.
 
Micu has spent the last few years learning from and performing with some of the most talented musicians and DJs in Dublin, and she has made a name for herself in the city she now calls her home. One of her favourite personal achievements was decorating and curating the Marakii Garden stage at Boxed Off Festival on the 1st of October where all the local Irish talent had a chance to express themselves in a gorgeous environment. She is currently one-third of the Dublin-based all female collective Eve. The three of them having played festivals such as Electric Picnic, BD, Boxed Off, Sea Sessions, Longitude, Life Festival and Forbidden Fruit, They hold residencies in Dublin's Opium Rooms and Pygmalion and have played in many other electronic music venues
in the last year.

PHUNK'DUP is a club promotion/event, it's a music release moniker, and it's also the touring live act title for legendary Irish DJ/Producers Dean Sherry & Barry Dempsey. PHUNK'DUP has released an extensive back catalogue worldwide over the last decade, plus had releases on reknowned compilation labels as Global Underground & Fade (US). Individually the duo have also released numerous recordings on many formats & labels and have DJed & toured internationally for almost 2 decades… Now their back with all new material ;)

Since November 1998 founders Dean Sherry & Barry Dempsey have operated under the PHUNK’DUP banner, both as award-winning* DJs, event promotions & as the multi-acclaimed Soundsystem live act. This live act has toured & repeatedly appeared extensively around Ireland & far beyond playing headline sell-out shows for over the last decade.

This groundbreaking DJ-Live hybrid group act has always been a very forward-looking combination of a live electronic music act alongside a dual-DJ set up between the two performers (dex+f/x). What the duo do is integrate various material, triggered & performed live via outboard equipment including samplers, sequencers, drum machines, outboard effects & keyboards alongside DJ vinyl & CD tracks; incorporating live remixing into the performance. This expandable format has proved very popular & successful and one of Ireland’s first & current only DJ live-hybrid acts.
PHUNK’DUP are now honing new material into a whole new stage performance of original material played live on outboard instruments to a stunning visual effects backdrop.

Very much both visual as well as aural, this multi-DJ live performance is in very high regard.

DJing for almost 20 years in various high-profile venues alongside this on very successful solo careers, Dean & Barry are also founders of Impulsive Music Ireland Ltd, a record company housing over 3 labels, and also VIRTU Recording Studios in Dublin.
The PHUNK’DUP Soundsystem have toured Ireland numerous times in succession playing seminal venues nationwide & far beyond. They’ve also brought the live act to the Far East, Europe & America on sponsored tours and are devoloping their new live show for the international road presently, to tie in with their concept album release plans.

PHUNK’DUP champion their forward thinking sound week in week out at various club events. Their sound is very funk-driven yet takes in many genres to always ensure dancefloor effectiveness & reaction, dropping many variants during marathon 5-hours but always involving familiar classic loops, samples & tunes along the way… 
They feature regular on radio including national stations (2FM, FM104, Spin FM, etc) & the Internet plus host their own monthly PHUNK'DUP Radio Podcast available for free download via iTunes.
PHUNK’DUP have released a number of singles worldwide via their own labels (& licensed to others) over the years plus are presently working on material for a debut album in their studio Virtu in central Dublin.

The PHUNK’DUP SOUNDSYSTEM have now secured a monthly residency in the newly-reopened Kitchen club in Temple Bar plus festival live slots at Life, Hedliners & Electric Picnic plus have tour dates coming up in Europe to promote their new tracks & album project.
