Most know Don Mecca as one the hottest up incoming DJs in Metro Detroit area. He is respected in the industry because he is no rookie in the game of music and blazing the decks. He possesses a lethal play book of a variety of diverse genres. Including everything from Hip-Hop to Top 40… Electro House to Dubstep… Mashups and even videos. This guarantees him to move all crowds at any venue. Although he rocks on any of the industry's standard equipment, his weapons of choice are Technics. With these he executes scratches and transitions with the utmost precision. As word travels about his skills, Don Mecca is finding himself in higher demand among promoters and owners. In only one year's time since reintroducing himself to the game, he has solidified himself as a renowned DJ, working with some of Metro's biggest Promoters, Producers and DJs. As a featured Resident DJ you can find him spinning at Club Bleu, Dooleys of Sterling Heights and Roseville and Roger's Roost with monthly appearances at Trumpp's Gentleman's Club He has also been featured in the Macomb Monthly. He makes social appearances at numerous events and is available for any occasion. Don Mecca is known for his open format sets because he senses the essence of his audience and always delivers on what they need.

DJ Don Mecca has always been inspired by music. From the days of sitting on the porch listening to Rakim, Beastie Boys, LL Cool J and Run DMC. Beatboxing and Freestyling with childhood friends until the streetlights came on, really kickstarted his love affair with music. As Don Mecca matured so did his relationship with music and he began studying the mechanics of how it all came together to make it so euphoric to him. Along the way he discovered his desire to not just hear the music, but to really feel the beats and manipulate them. Taking notes from Funkmaster Flex, Mr. Mixx (of 2 Live Crew), Jam Master J and DJ Jazzy Jeff, he grew the production and DJing part of his music relationship. Throughout the years many more successful DJs have continued to influence his style and skills. A fellow Producer/DJ once told Don Mecca, “to differentiate yourself from being just another DJ, you have to really become an artist". Taking those words to heart, he not only DJs, he produces in his free time, and is pursuing his Bachelor's Degree in Music Engineering and Music Technology. In 2010, he founded Starbangaz Entertainment, a collective of Producers, DJs and Artists. If you look at everything DJ Don Mecca has accomplished and continues to do, you will find that even the sky cannot limit his career.
