Azadeh Nilchiani, is an artist, researcher, and university lecturer, currently a postdoctoral researcher on the DEM'ARTS project, "Création, démocratie et numérique", directed by Sandra Laugier PR (ISJPS) at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
She holds a PhD in Arts (sound arts and sound studies) on « Sound installations in urban spaces» from the LISAA research laboratory, University Gustave Eiffel, Paris, France, 2021.
Graduated in 2003 from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Tehran University in Iran, then in France at ENSAD (École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs) in Art-Espace and at the École nationale de musique de Pantin in 2009. In 2010, she obtained a Master 2 in Music and Multimedia at the University of Paris-Est. She was an associate and guest researcher at the Bibliothèque nationale de France on the collection of the Institut international de musique électroacoustique de Bourges (IMEB) from 2016 to 2019. She is a temporary teaching and research associate (ATER) at the University of Lille since October 2019.

Her practice is multidisciplinary, combining sound, visual and spatial media, through installation, video art, field recording and electroacoustic composition. Her artwork has been shown since 2002 in Iran, France, Chile, Greece, Myanmar, Mexico, South Korea, Portugal, the United States, Sweden, Dubai, Finland and Spain.
