New Producer, aiming for Acid Dance / Acid Trance / High Energy

Mickey rez Garcia (aka Rez) has become one of Los Angeles’ most recognized names in the DJ electro club scene. Born in Guatemala, Rez came to the states in 1991 at the age of 8. Even at a young age, he was fascinated by the DJs on the radio. With an old Sony 2-track tape deck, he & his brother would often pretend they were radio announcers. Living in Los Angeles, Rez received his first guitar as a gift from his father when he was 14 years old & instantly dedicated his life to music. Playing in several bands throughout the years, Rez was leaving rehearsal one evening, a Fender telecaster in one hand & a Jackson electric in the other, when a group of men robbed him at gun point. Devastated but resilient, Rez heeded the words a DJ friend had given him a while back. With some money he received as a settlement from his company, Rez bought his first turntable, a Pioneer 800 MK2.
One of Rez’s biggest influences when it comes to writing music is Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails & Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins. If you listen carefully, you can detect traces of these two musical sensations throughout Rez’s music. In addition to Tiesto, Sander Vandorn, Paul Aokenfold & Ashley Wallbriedge, he pulls inspiration from many different artists of various genres & blends them flawlessly together into a unique, stylized set that is purely Rez.
Getting his start as a DJ producing & spinning Trance music, Rez has since expanded his ever evolving musical palette to include Electro, Deep House, & Techno. However he claims to have found his true calling in Minimal Tech Tribal House music. Having played countless venues & festivals throughout Southern California including the Vans Warped Tour, X-games, House of Blues, Avalon,globe theater,exchange l.a and Academy l.a in Hollywood, Rez’s draw continues to grow exponentially, & his influence on the electronic music scene in Los Angeles is nothing short of momentous & inspiring. You can find Rez spinning throughout the greater Los Angeles & Orange County areas at venues such as the Globe Theater, 5 Star Bar, Club Heat, Facing Beauty Studios, the New Majestic, & Mirror Image Studios.
