BIO:
Animus hails from good ol' Brooklyn, NY. Techno pumps through his veins especially the sounds of Hard Techno.  Jungle flows thru his spirit. The darker and sexier it is the better. After discovering his passion for DJing, he made his way into the nightlife of Okinawa, Japan, in 2004, earning his stripes on turntables. When he came back to NYC two years later he was on a mission to make crowds go mad in primal rage on the dance floor. From the DnB/Jungle scene to the underground rave/techno scene Animus has become known throughout NY and beyond making his anthem heard. He combines the sounds of techno, hard house, ghetto tek, schranz and drum and bass to deliver raw urban energy. With his versatility and unique sound he manipulates music in a manner that keeps the crowds hungry for more. Animus will continue to represent the underground of NYC as he moves forward to unleash his rage onto the world.

Ascension through Sensory Stimulation

A visual artist for the last 22 years, he has been an essential part of the Electronic Music Scene since the early 90’s. As CEO of Funktaxi 1533, one of the most known visual collectives from NYC, he has designed various clubs around the world and participated in some of the biggest events in the US. His work has been exhibited in various Galleries, Museums, Clubs, and Festivals around the world. Has exhibited in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Caracas Venezuela 2 times. Has Exhibited in the Christian Dior Biennale. His work has been part of shows in galleries like: Here Gallery (NYC), Anthology Film Archives Gallery and theatre (NYC), Artist Space (NYC), CBGB’ Gallery (NYC), Purple Gallery (LA), Salon Mendoza (CCS, Venezuela) and Exit Art Gallery (NYC) among others. Also was part of the World Fair in Portugal 1998 for Amazonian Project Fashion show. His Permanent installs consist of:

His life has been engulfed in a video tirade. As once introduced in an event: “Collecting from life experiences that rival philosophers and rock stars, Mau creates a visual symphony that soothes or disturbs at his pleasure.”
