George Fotiadis is a multifaceted creative music producer under the alias Basement Freaks. Born in Greece, Fotiadis has established himself as a versatile artist with a rich portfolio spanning audio storytelling and funk-infused electronic music.

Under the Basement Freaks pseudonym, George Fotiadis has carved out a notable presence in the music world, particularly within the funk, soul, and breakbeat genres. He is recognized as a producer whose work pays homage to the golden age of funk, merging the 1970s and 1980s vibes with a modern twist. 

He also contributes to the music production community by releasing live-recorded sample packs through Black Octopus Sound, enhancing his influence among producers and DJs.

Fotiadis’s approach to music is marked by creativity and a refusal to adhere strictly to convention.

If Katz were a cook, he would be awarded a Michelin star for his cuisine – a fresh and original fusion of ingredients and inspiration from all around the world, and perfectly controlled skills – definitely not for purists!
 
But Katz is not a cook, he’s a DJ. And what he plays is kind of special. Bassy club music meets folk samples from all over the globe. Hip hop vocals riding a reggae tune, rock’n’roll memories laid over drum’n’bass. Speed halving leading into regions of trap, and from there a quick side-step into twerk-moves.  Then the trip goes to bassy glitch and funk, touching moombahton. A little bit of swing, some electro, and from time to time a hit tune sparkles and then dissolves away, before you even recognize it. Sounds really motley, and that’s exactly what it is: fresh fusion-cuisine inna musical way.

Fajita Funk are a group of  South West DJs, bringing uptempo party cuts breaks, beats, reggae, hip hop, latin and all inbetween to many clubs and bars across the South of England, and beyond (Oxford, Exeter, Woolacombe, Bristol, Bath, London). They currently hold residencies in Oxford, (The Library), and in Reading (Milk).

Their mixes have been pleasuring the ears of the internet community for years, with the boys appearing as guests across various internet radio shows.

Their production work is still in its relative infancy, but already they have had one release on Tru-Funk Records, 'Edwin's Phat Man!' The work has also been getting support from DJs such as Hong Kong Ping Pong, Cut La Vis, Ewan Hoozami, Dropsteady Freddy etc etc. Other tracks have been recognised through the renowned Spinforth Scour. As DJ support for the likes of Boca 45, Dan Greenpeace, Breakin Bread, Itchy & Scratchy, and Smoove amongst others, they are a sure fire winner!
