3 time winner of the Charleston City Paper Best Hip Hop Act of 2018/2019/2020, Real South Records Signee, Abstract- That Rapper has released his first solo compilation of music in 7 years officially on soundcloud for free for supporters February 7th, 2020! Then again on all major streaming sites February 15th, 2020.

Amidst the constant live appearances Abstract, which has garnered much attention to his name,  finally releases a body of work. In celebration of the large leaps and bounds Charleston's hip hop scene has come since his time as a student at the College of Charleston. All in all, outside the positive and somewhat motivational tone of his raps on this Mosaic EP he sets out to prove to doubters and current fans that the same energy he displays live can come on his recorded material.

Simply, this EP slights towards celebrating and acknowledging one's imperfections whether a creative, musician, or a regular person trying to improve their situation. As stated in his introductory track:

 "...we are all flawed and beautiful. We are all broken pieces
of shells and glass. [And] on the beach there, we lay.
A beautiful MOSAIC, a million chipped pieces
creating a piece of art..."

Mondabre, otherwise known as Ben Reynolds, is a self proclaimed “man of many genres.” He claims that he has never directly mentioned this phrase to anyone except for the person writing his artist bio (himself).  

Over the years he’s experimented with many different genres, such as psychedelic rock, progressive rock, indie rock, dream pop, psych pop, bossa nova, ambient, synthwave, and many different sub genres of electronic music. 

Ben began making music under the name “pain truck” in 2012, and quickly fell in love with the world of production and sound design. After years of experimentation with various software synths and plugins, he eventually decided to get his grubby little hands on some analog synthesizers, which quickly spiraled into a severe case of gear addiction syndrome (GAS). These days, he spends most of his time holed up in his cave, obsessing over minute details with his production chicanery. This page contains mostly sonic experiments, however there are some real tracks hidden amongst his chaotic catalog.
