When you meet Ilhame (pronounced Eelum and aptly meaning “inspiration” in Arabic), you automatically feel at ease and very comfortable in her presence. She speaks with confidence, dignity, passion and inspiration in her voice and you can’t help but have the warm positivity rub off on you.  
 
A Paris native, born in the 17th District of Paris – with Morrocco in her blood, Ilhame spends her time between Los Angeles and Europe soaking in the culture, music, diversity and the infinite blessings life has to offer. She takes her calling in music very seriously – a certain diction you can hear in her music and her sultry, rich and spirited voice.
 
Inspired by funk, soul and R & B sounds and voices like Luther Vandross, Bill Withers and Rose Royce coupled with Ilhame’s pure instinct to follow her heart, makes her journey spirited, fulfilling and no doubt – soulful.
 
Her latest project comes on the heels of Marley – the official documentary about the life and times of Bob Marley, Ilhame covers Bob's "Waiting In Vain", dubbs it "Still Waiting" and gets Bob's son Ky-Mani Marley to help. Loosely translated into French and Arabic, Ilhame beautifully displays the sentiment and feeling of the original song adding her own soulful, feminine flavor and an unmistakable Marley voice as sung by Ky-Mani Marley. You might even recognize another Marley in the video – Karen [Marley], as she and Ilhame enjoy a beautiful Los Angeles day in the sun.
 
"Still Waiting" is the single from Ilhame’s debut album, Just Wish It, which features collaborations from Nicolay (Foreign Exchange), Shafiq Husayn (Sa-Ra Creative Partners), T3 (Slum Village) and rapper Big Pooh to name a few. Just Wish It will be available this summer.
 
In addition to her studio work, Illhame has opened shows for the likes of Erykah Badu at the Nice Jazz Festival (France), Dwele and Van Hunt and toured with Philly's own, The Roots in Paris.
