Having a keen focus on nostalgic, romantically infused dreamwave, Timecop1983 aka Jordy Leenaerts is a practised master of the retro-synth sound. Hailing from Eindhoven in the Netherlands, Leenaerts has been in awe of music from the 80s, the decade that bore the electronic music dawn. Cutting his teeth on niche software, Scream Tracker, on which he experimented in everything from hip hop to minimal techno, before settling on synth based dreamwave. Taking his inspiration from artists like Miami Nights 1984, Sellorekt, Multipac and Sunglasses Kid, Leenaerts honed his instrumental style before reaching out to Hannah Edwards. The Scottish vocalist whose previously worked with Futurecop! then added her epic tones to the track 'Hold Me' to complete a stellar trio from Timecop1983. His 'Daydreaming' EP is full of rich, pulsating synths and superbly sidechained, basslines. Its easy to connect his interest in hip-hop by the instrumental style of his drums. They're heavily reverbed, sparsely placed and sound totally epic on headphones or through speakers.
