La llegada de J´Martin al mundo internacional de la música comenzó a los 9 años mientras trabajaba junto a su padre en una bodega en Queens, y ya anhelaba su primer proyecto musical independiente. Soñaba con tener una banda de merengue. Atraído, además, por los sonidos típicos de República Dominicana como el Perico Ripiao, Merengue y Bachata, conformó años después su propio estilo en la "Bachata Pop/Urbana".

Hechos importantes:
2010: Nombrado "Mejor Artista Revelación" por la revista People en Español.
2011: Nominado a´Revelación del Año en el Renglón Tropical de Premios Lo Nuestro´.
