From Pomona (in Southern California, just east of Los Angeles), the birth place of well-known names
such as Jessica Alba, comes Abraham “Krucial Kay” Castro, set out to find his niche and establish his own
name through music. Although he began under the name of “Castro,” in 2012, after a sense of rebirth,
he took on the name of “Krucial Kay”. What would transpire into a career began, unknowingly, in 2005,
when he was first exposed to music editing programs such as Garage Band. Though it all began as just
a hobby, through the process of understanding the basics of creating beats, and adding original vocals
and lyrics to some of his many creations, he quickly became infatuated with the limitless possibilities
available, through which to express his musical creativity.

As Krucial Kay sought to further develop his talents, he began to listen to a variety of musical genres to
understand their intricacies. Influenced by the music of hip-hop/rap artists such as Lil Wayne, Drake, and
Kendrick Lamar, and the sounds of Skrillex, Deadmau5, and Draft Punk, amongst many others, he began
to develop his own musical style that he hoped would reach out to the audiences of all these genres of
music. As both acquaintances and strangers began to hear his musical compositions, it became clear
that this was his forte; it was the responsiveness of those hearing, and the knowledge of being heard
and understood through his music, that inspired him to further explore and seek to develop his musical
talent, turning this simple hobby into his life’s ambition.

At the age of 19, Krucial Kay began his official career working with a small indie label. His sense of style
and music earned him a performance for a local radio station, performing with the likes of Mac 10, Too
Short, Babby Bash, Suga Free, G Malone, Nipsy Hussle, Lazybone, and more. After creating many locally
popular songs and a music video, Krucial Kay, now 23, is working to truly make his mark on the music
industry. While receiving input from established producers, and surrounding himself with interesting
personalities, Krucial Kay is working on his first official album, “Such A Paradox” projected to be released
locally in May 2013; a small step in the comparison to his vast ambitions.
