LVT is a DJ and curator from the West Coast of Canada, with over 10 years of DJing and event production behind her. Though versatile with an expansive collection and enjoyment of many genres; a specific depth and storytelling is present in all of LVTs sets, luring the audience into her magical musical wonderland with euphoric and emotional, often driving, and smoothly blended tracks. 

She's done handfuls of well received mixes from ambient to techno on podcasts such as Deep Breakfast, Monument and more recently Delayed. This set was made with an opening set in mind; something to draw people in without becoming so intense as to overwhelm the next destination. She sticks to her love of the chiller side, going deep and hypnotic with this one.

This week on the podcast, a mix from friend of the festival and celebrated Cartulis resident Junki Inoue. Born in Tokyo but living in London since 2012, Junki's been an avid record collector from an early-age. Few have bags as deep, something shown by this mix, which happens to be an hour section of his set from Dimensions 2022. It's testament to the timeless sound he's cultivated that you'd never tell.

Stella Zekri (@stella-zekri-ouiddir) is based in Berlin but her sound defies the usual expectations of those who dance in the city best known for house and techno. Her sets instead are instead led by soul and emotion and reach far and wide into the worlds of hip hop, house, new beat, trance, jazz, disco and bring rich colours and exultant vibes to the scene. She often likes to play long sets and isn't afraid of twisting and turning through diverse tempos and rhythms along the way, which is something she also does at the Body Language events she founded with Camilla Rae and Caitlin Russell in 2021. They have brought something all new to the queer scene in Berlin, while her monthly Breakfast Show on Refuge Worldwide and her studio work with 80s zouk and boogie band Stella and the Longos are further creative outlets that make Stella a new school star.  

All of this is reflected in the sixty-minute selection Stella has put together for us this week: it's a celebration of her eclectic collection that is powered by outgoing pianos, emotive vocals and gleeful grooves. There are old school house jams and silky soul-laced depths, happy 90s tracks and plenty of sensuous voices that all prove Stella Zekri's ability to keep the good times flowing is second to none.

3024: Otik, can you describe your mix in a single sentence?

"An ethereal and drum heavy journey between 160 and 170bpm, which includes old and new inspirations for my recent ‘Cloud Runner’ EP on 3024."

3024: What DJ inspires you at the moment / has inspired you throughout the years and why?

"I’ve actually talked about this recently, but I’ve always been in awe of Midland’s sets. The way he can read a crowd and create heart stopping moments on the spot with ease has really inspired me to become a better DJ."

3024: What are you working on / what have you got forthcoming?

"I’m currently finishing up two records for the same label, I can’t say who yet but I’m really happy with how they sound. The music focuses a bit more on the dance floor, 4x4 rhythms and sits within the 135-140pm range, which I haven’t experimented with for a while."
